The Cube, or Cubist, pattern was made by Jeannette Glass Company from 1929 to 1933. It's often confused with Fostoria's American pattern and for good reason: both were designed by the same man. This Turkman Yomut's child's cap from Herat measures 17.8 cm in diameter and 49.5 cm in circumference, 5.5 cm in height. It is estimated to date to the mid 20th century and is in excellent condition. The embroidery technique is cotton thread in a tightly worked satin stitch on a light beige cotton ground.

Japanese limited edition cement mortar block print pencil-titled in kanji "Poem 69-69" (indicating production in 1969) by Maki Haku (1924-2000). Pencil-signed and numbered 59/155 in the lower margin. The artist's square red seal is at the lower left corner of the image. This print features the highly embossed ideographs characteristic of Maki's work. The designs were created by inscribing on wet cement. Paper size: 19 5/8" x 13 1/2" (image size: 18 3/16" x 12 5/16"). Very good overall condition...

A work of studio pottery, found in Southern California, the color a rich earthy brown, the vessel pierced intentionally by the artist to create naturalistic openings, similar to the distinctive style of Peter Voulkos (1924-2002). The piece measures 7 1/2" high by 5" diameter. The piece is signed on the bottom "Balvin 79". Surprisingly I do not see a studio potter by this name, but the artist was obviously talented and also familiar with Voulkos' acclaimed work.

This lovely Fostoria rose pink June etch tidbit, snack, or lemon handled plate is in perfect condition. The acid etch features two large tied ribbons trailing along the rim with spring flowers.
