Beautiful vintage Japanese sodenashi (work vest) made with indigo sakiori (rag weave) cotton, woven with multicolor areas to create a lovely patchwork effect, edged in solid indigo cotton, reinforced along the back, sides, and back of the neck in sashiko stitching. These vests were traditionally worn by workers in mountainous regions.

Add interest to any room with this colorful Chinese Deco Nichols style rug, circa 1930, featuring a floral motif on raspberry background banded by jade and mustard borders. Measurements: 8' x 9' 9". Condition is good with wear to pile in several areas, freckling throughout, small spot. Priced accordingly.

Measuring 56 x 88 cm, this horse headcover was hand-embroidered by Uzbeks of the Lakai tribe, well-known for their horsemanship. Each of the embroidered panels feature solar and horned designs, executed in Bukhara couching on red wool flannel, fringed with beaded silk tassels ending in small white beads, a typical feature in Central Asian embroidery. Condition is good but with a few small holes. Estimated age: mid 20th century.

A Labijar kilim in slitweave from northern Afghanistan. It measures 70 x 96 cm and is hand knotted from sheep's wool. Late 20th century.

Beautiful cased vase by Pallme-Konig und Habel, showing their excellent use of the casing technique! The vase is four layers of glass; orange, white, clear, then the decorative layer of textured red glass. The vase was then covered with irregular applied trailed decoration in black, which has been worked into the surface. The entire surface has been strongly iridized. The first photograph (white background) best shows the true color of the piece and the intensity of color...

This pretty depression glass amber Sharon, aka Cabbage Rose, Cup and Saucer were made by Federal Glass from 1935 to 1939. The Cup measures 4 Inches in diameter. Westmoreland English Hobnail oblong Bowl measures 10"x8.5". It does have the WG logo on the bottom, in excellent condition.

This Royal Doulton oval scalloped Series Ware platter depicts Dr. Johnson at the Temple Bar. It is from the series Historic England.

This series was introduced in 1938. It bears the initials of the Artist M. F. It has a special back stamp that incorporates the scene name and the pattern number D. 5940.

It is 11 1/2 long and 9 3/8" wide. This item is in excellent condition including the gold rim.

This is a really pretty crystal Ruby Flashed Wakefield, aka Waterford, 7 1/2 inch diameter X 5 inch high Mint Comport made by Westmoreland Glass. This Comport has the Lipped Pie Crust Edge and is signed WG on the bottom. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The Ruby Flashing is all very good. Chinese pair of carved jichimu wood stools. The curved legs are carved with cusped edges and narrow to lingzhi mushroom shaped feet. The seats are inset with white dali marble.

This finely crafted Chinese Steatite brush washer is an artistically carved pomegranate that sits beautifully attached with vines, small berries and a blooming flower. Superb and rare mask with a very refined carving, representing a chief, with detailed coiffe, eyes, mouth, beard and scarifications. Wood, with fine patina. R.D. This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Meissen in the 1920s. The saucer is 4 3/4 inches long, 4 1/4 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches deep. The cup is 1 3/4 inches high. The set has a quatrefoil shape, with tiny hand painted flowers dotting each piece. The rims are trimmed with gold. Condition: Excellent, first quality.

Japanese multi metal engraved plaque depicting an actor dressed in a rich robe wearing a demonic mask and a long red colored wig surmounted by a twisting dragon decoration. The actor represents Ryujin, the Dragon God of the Sea, and most likely is performing in the Noh play, KASUGA RYUJIN “The Dragon God of Kasuga Shrine”. Superb quality work with crisp carving, gilding and differently colored patinas, in perfect condition. Beautifully framed (have not been examined out of the frame)...

A 20th Century example of a tradition laos rain drum cast in bronze. Three frogs (12 altogether) on top with a twelve pointed star with continuing concentric circle with stamp decoration. The side has two short vines with a feaf design. snails representing water and fertility.

A globular flared body rises with four attached handles of frog design. Circular concentric pattern continues throughout the top and body with a range of geometric shapes within each one...

Japanese early to mid 20th century ceramic tea cup by SUIGETSU. The tea cup has the design of a camellia blossom done in high relief around the sides of the cup. The cup measures 4 3/8" tall and 3 1/8" in diameter.

This is a contemporary, excellently carved carved polychrome netsuke depicting a standing Jurojin, one of the Seven Gods of Good Fortune, who is known as the god of longevity. He holds a staff with a sutra hanging from it on his right hand, and a fan on his left hand. Intricate detail and colors characterize this wonderful miniature sculpture carved by Akihiro Zusuki, a netsuke artist currently living in Hokkaido, Japan...

A woman's shirt front from Baluchistan, mid to 20th century, in a combination of blanket stitch, herringbone and satin stitch on green cotton in a diamond repeat pattern. It measures 30.5 x 47 cm. A dress ("pashk") covered with detailed embroidery is everyday attire for Baluch women. The embroidered diamond repeat pattern is known as "paraiz zarto" in the language of the Baluch. Condition: Excellent.

This is an extremely rare set of master die or Hobs used to create the dies for striking a coin to commemorate the Apollo 8 mission. These are from 1968 and are in good condition. One side has the seal of the United States of America while the other side has the names and busts of the astronauts, Anders, Borman and Lovell.
