A classic figural sterling silver thimble jigger by Thomae & Co. The rim is engraved "Only A Thimble Full." The interior retains some of its original gilding. Several companies made variations of this jigger, but those by Thomae are among the best due to their superior weight and workmanship.

Absolutely Beautiful French Louis XV style gilt bronze champleve and enamel porcelain covered Urn, great delicate enamel work, high quality hand painting on porcelain depicting two playful children surrounded by floral motif on one side and on the oposit beautiful scenery and foliage. Sambaso dancer with the typical high hat (striped eboshi) with a sun disc (round circle) on each side. In his left hand he holds suzu jingle bells; his right hand, on his back, holds a fan. Single block carving (ichiboku); keyaki (zelkova) wood, carved in a faceted way, resembling ittobori, and stained dark brown.

A beautifully sculpted image of a pheasant by Ogawa Yuhei enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 37 cm long and in excellent condition.
Yuhei Ogawa (1885-1945) was born in Takamatsu, Okayama prefecture an came to pottery a bit later than most. In 1923, while working part time at the Naval Hydrographic Department, he was deeply moved by seeing the solo exhibition of ceramic sculptor Kazumasa Numata. This gave him impetus to begin sculpting in his free time...

Mask with black soot patina whose edges of the mouth and eyes are enhanced with red and also white for the eyes only. The tip of the nose shows a much higher wear patina than the other areas of the mask. The inside of the mask also shows a very nice shiny black indicating important signs of use. This ring has been in my collection for decades, since 1980 in fact. It’s called Serenity but I’ve always called it my flattened egg ring. According to Georg Jensen archives, the ring was designed by Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe in 1974 (sometimes people accredit it to other designers). The ring is US size 6 but its design is very forgiving—it accommodates a larger finger. It is no longer in production.

George V sterling silver box. Made by Richard Comyns in London in 1934. Rectangular with straight sides and curved corners. Cover hinged with gently curved top and tapering tab. On cover top is engraved the coat of arms of the Honourable Artillery Company, which is the oldest regiment in the British army. Cedar-lined and partitioned interior; underside leather lined.
