Statue of a Taoist exorcist ("yingong"), in formal attire, sitting on a throne, holding his commandment baton in his right hand and a bowl containing the lustral water in his left. Wood, coated with polychrome painting. Animal hair used to represent the moustache and the beard. Votive box at the back, lid missing. China, early 20th century. Height: 25 cm. Painting partly flaking, otherwise very good condition.

A 7 inch tall signed Steuben goblet with colorless cup and foot joined by a Pomona Green twist stem. The goblet is shape 3551 and is decorated in the Van Dyke pattern. The goblet is signed on the polished pontil with the block letter Steuben mark.

Japanese glass obidome (sash ornament) with flowers floating on a stream with air bubbles and silver foil flakes. Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, it is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions, and could serve as netsuke as well. Nice design, wonderful quality glasswork, very pleasant to hold. Length 0.88 inches.

Asmat Tribe War Shield and Spirit Protecting Shield, made on the Dutch (Indonesian) side of New Guinea (Irian Jaya) by the Asmat people. It shows carving done by stone or shell tools, rather than more recent metal-carved examples. 74 x 20 inches, 188 x 51 cm.

Consolidated Glass Company produced the Catalonian line in 1927. It was made to look like glass found in Catalonia Spain at the archaeological sites, and had bubbles and raised rings blown into the glass. This is the #1131 candlestick - part of the Spanish Knobs variation - in emerald green. Wonderful early vase by Pierre Greber, dating from around 1935, in excellent condition. This unusual vase is 8 1/2" high and is very reminiscent of Charles Greber's Art Nouveau pieces. It is signed with the "Greber" incised signature in script Pierre borrowed from his uncle.

Chinese Landscape Scroll on paper with ink and pigments with calligraphy set in upper left corner and lovely misty mountainous scene of hut set in forest with travelers crossing bridge. This textile from central Afghanistan was made by Hazara women and depicts the severed hands and shrine of Hazrat Abbas, the half-brother of Hussein ibn Ali, during the battle of Kerbala in Iraq. The scene is embroidered in very fine cross stitch in rayon thread on a polyester background and measures 47 x 59 cm. Condition: Excellent. Estimated age: late 20th century...

This lovely candlestick features Hiesey's very popular upside-down Orchids and bows. The Orchid pattern was produced between 1940 and 1957, and this one still bears its foil Heisey label. The taper will fit in the deep hole of the flared and knobbed candle holder. It measures 4 3/4" across the foot and stands 3 3/4" high. This lovely is in excellent, unused condition. Insurance and confirmation are included in the price.

This is an exquisite set of nine dresser pieces that are in fantastic shape. The pieces include a cuticle stick, nail buffer, mirror, brush, shoe horn, powder jar, cotton ball jar, toothbrush holder and monogrammed jar. These pieces do show some wear but for their age and the amount of love and use they are in outstanding shape. The mirror is an especially amazing find, very heavy, good quality glass. These pieces date back to the 1920's...

This blouse is from Thailand and made for use by a Karen Hilltribe woman. First the fabric was hand woven from cotton fibers. Next the surface was lower half was elaborately decorated with cotton thread embroidery and tiny sea urchin shells using a geometric pattern. Then it was whip stitched into the form of a blouse using white cotton thread. This garment makes a wonderful display piece and can also be worn for special occassions. 23 inches across and 27 inches long.

French early 20th century Limoges porcelain plate xx

DESCRIPTION: A very good woven oak-splint basket in lobed buttocks form, used as a field gathering basket or a market basket for goods. This large early 1900’s Pennsylvania basket has a sturdy bentwood handle with double bentwood-wrapped rims; old varnish finish. Very good condition with minor usage wear. For size reference, the last photo in this listing shows this basket displayed on top of our Country Corner Cabinet (#A-CBL2). DIMENSIONS: 20” wide x 17" high.

The Crinkle pattern was produced by Morgantown glass company in the late 1930's and into the 1960's. This is the 6 1/2 inch high juice or martini pitcher. The style is called 'Tijuana' and it holds 34 oz. Perfect condition, see my other listings for more Crinkle items in different colors.

A 4" across and 2" high Byzantaware lustre English porcelain flower frog in the Winton Grimwades Tuba shape. Although the mark is mostly obscured by the lustre glaze it is identical to a green luster Tuba frog which is fully marked; this frog is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use...

Vetreria Alfredo Barbini incalmo spherical vase consisting of fused transparent amethyst and amber hemispheres, with cut and polished opening. Height is 9.5 inches (24 cm) Diameter at equator 10 inches (25.4 cm). No chips, cracks or repairs, few minor surface scratches. Inscribed: Barbini Murano. Circa 1970

A Chinese jade vase of flat baluster shape with Mughal style carving of flora and foliage to the body and the cover decorated with lappets. The vase is well hollowed and the stone is of pale hue with one natural vein. Age; late Qing, early 20 C. size: 16.3 cm high. condition; very good.

Fenton made the pattern "Pineapple Vine" in the late 1930's. This three-footed Cake Plate is about 13" across. See the second photo. It is in excellent condition.

An old prayer napkin from Afghanistan, measuring 10 x 11 inches. It features very fine stitching characteristic of Hazara embroideries - satin stitch on a white linen background, in silk threads (yellow, blue, orange, green and red). The embroidery on the reverse side of this textile is exactly identical to the front side. Estimated age: early to mid 20th century. Condition is excellent except for some minor stain on the reverse side, displayed in the last photo.
