Chinese White Copper Paktong Baitong Ruyi Incense Clock,Circa 1930's

Japanese woodblock print by Yoshida Hiroshi, oban yoke-e, dated Showa 10 (1935), signed in pencil ¡°Hiroshi Yoshida,¡± very good color, impression and condition (void of jizuri seal).

Pair of English Jacobean Revival flagons. Globular body with scroll handle in brown pottery with granulated salt glaze. Gilt sterling silver neck collar and hinged and domed cover with open scrollwork thumb rest as well as raised foot. Chased strapwork embellished with faces and clusters of fruits and vegetables.

One marked George Nathan & Ridley Hayes with Chester assay stamp and 1911 date letter. The other marked Elkington & Co. with Birmingham assay stamp and 1923 date letter...

A classic figural sterling silver thimble jigger by Thomae & Co. The rim is engraved "Only A Thimble Full." The interior retains its original gilding. Several companies made variationss of this jigger, but those by Thomae are among the best because of their superior weight and workmanship.

Origin: America, ca. 1935. Condition: excellent, no dings or monograms. Dimensions: 1-31/32" tall. Weight: 38.4 gr.

A rare model of Ghurra composed of a chain with 2 square links whose upper link carries an ancestor seated at its top who seems to be in a meditation position. The lower link shows on each of its 4 faces naive sculptures of various mythical animals, elephant, deer, cow, dog and peacock. The ancestor measures 9 cm high, his face measures 3 cm. Superb hard inlaid patina. Presented on an iron stand. Note that this ghurra has undergone several discreet local repairs...

A carved bone figure of a man, 7 1/4" in height, heavy for its size, appearing at first to be possibly of Northwest/Canadian/Arctic origin, but research shows that this piece is actually from the scenic popular Indonesia island of Lombok just to the east of Bali. Note the craftsmanship of this hand-made piece. There is the tuft of hair at top, and all arms and legs are movable. A number is written on inside of one thigh. Age is unknown but the piece certainly is vintage and perhaps older.

This is an antique Chinese ink painting of young bamboo in fan form on silk done in shades of black ink with 3 seals in red. This is a lovely rendering, with subtle brush work as well as decisive strong definition.

Size: Approximately 16 cm high by 46 cm long

Condition: This painting is old and exhibits the normal signs of aging. Visible wear and discolouration on the ribs, with some minor foxing throughout. No tears or missing pieces.

Age: Qing Dynasty

DESCRIPTION: A colorful hand woven rug with red borders and hexagonal designs on a light blue ground. This flat weave rug is reversible and is in excellent condition (bright colors, thick pile, no stains or losses). After purchase, all of our textiles are professionally cleaned and stored until sold. Set of two traditional Korean pillows made of wood and such characteristic embroideries of various beauties of nature with some kanji letters ('Happiness' at large one and 'Centenarian' and 'One mind' at small one). Mid 20th century. approx. 12.5 x 19 x H 9cm (4.92 x 7.48 x 3.54in), approx. 14 x 26 x H 10cm (5.51 x 10.23 x 3.93in). Woodchips are contained in small pillow and those sound when shake it...

Wonderful 1960’s sterling silver concho belt by a very fine Navajo silversmith of N.P, c. 1950s-60s.

Unusally large and heavy plus very ornate with particularly fine select large torquise stones mounted on 12 Conches and the massive buckle.

The belt measure 130 cm. length and weighs 932 grams, almost a kilo. Probably the largest we've seen for sale and the high weight must be due to the larger size of the Conchos and buckle.

Kokeshi, wooden folk toy of NE Japan. Height: 3.75". This is an example of the "Naruko-kei" tradition of Miyagi Prefecture. This particular shape was called an "ezuko" (basket child) in the local Miyagi vernacular. The artisan was Sakurai Shouji, who was born on January 1st, 1927 (Showa 2.) It is not dated, but was most likely made during the 1960's or 1970's. Elaborately carved Chinese hardwood, possibly zitan, brushpot; with allover lotus leaves and lotus pods in relief, (minor wear). Size; Height of the carving is 5 inches.

A celadon-glazed vase (Ganlanping). Covered on the outside with an even celadon glaze stopping just short of the top rim. The inside is glazed white, as well as the base. The base rim left unglazed. A six character Qianlong mark in underglaze blue on the base.

Chinese vintage belt hook carved in the form of a dragon's head curled to face a crouching chimera with scrolling vines in his jaws. On top of the chimera's back is a bat and coin representing good fortune. The jadeite is very beautiful in color and ranges from a pale, almost white starting at the head of the dragon and gradates to a bright orange color with a steak of bright green in the center. This is a piece of noh drama costume which is called "Choken". Choken is made of silk gauze or weft silk gauze with woven designs with gold and colored threads. It is worn by a dancer or noble man in the noh stage. This choken has woven design of Hagi ( Japanese clover ) and Nadeshiko ( Dianthus ) with gold threads. In excellent condition. 20th century. 40cm x 160cm

An elegant sterling silver small letter opener in Kirk’s “Repousse” pattern. The wide end is beautifully decorated with a pattern of roses and foliage against a stippled background. The flat edge is marked off so it can be used as a ruler. The back is marked with the Kirk hallmarked used 1932-61.

A very old New Guinea Massim lime spatula, made of intricately carved dark wood. The spatula portion is missing. This is not my specialty; identified by major auction house expert. A fine example of Melanesian ethnographic carving. Measures 12" by 4 1/4" (extreme dimensions). The thin tip is broken, as shown.

This unique figurine of a peasant boy carrying a sack, clearly demonstrates the artistic virtuosity of the Murano glass artists. It is highly unusual for a figurine to have hollow legs to support such tall statue. (We have only seen a similar figurine in Venice.) This Murano sculpture is superbly crafted and highly unusual in its clarity using only a subtle iridescence to accent the beauty of the Glass. This unique beauty stands 13" tall and is in excellent condition.

This is an old textile piece from Afghanistan, circa mid 20th century, made by Pashtuns from Ghazni province. It is a child's dress front. The textile features traditional motifs in cross stitch, silk thread in yellow, green and blue on a cotton background.
