Composed of alternating black and opaline canes, the space between the canes appears to be silver, but on closer inspection the spaces are clear glass which allow light to pass through the piece...

Vase stands 10 inches (25.4 cm) tall, and has a "double ruffled" rim. Made by Fenton 1947 to 1952 as model number 189. Unmarked, probably had paper label (Fenton glass was not marked "in mold" until 1953). A fascinating optical effect is caused by the clear glass "dots" that lends interest to this style vase. There is a small burst bubble in the clear casing glass in the lowest row of "dots" that occurred during manufacture. No chips, cracks or repairs. Circa 1950.
