Being offered is a superb circa 1945 sterling silver pitcher by William Spratling, of Taxco, Mexico; handwrought bulbous form originally, specifically designed as a sangria pitcher with three applied floral motifs on the body; flared neck; ribbon handle with ruffle decoration, but of course pitcher can be used for water, iced tea etc. Dimensions: 7 1/2 inches tall by 7 inches diameter. No monogram. Marked as illustrated in photo. In excellent condition. Weight is a hefty 38 ozs.

This large footed serving tray by Sheridan Silver Plate is 15 3/4" square. It has scroll work and floral designs on the edges, feet, and center. No Monograms! Silver plate salver or footed tray, by Walker and Hall, British company making fine silver plate items since 1853. Measures 11 3/4" in diameter, 1 1/2" high, sits on three ornate feet. Border is edged with beading, the surface is engine turned, and center holds name of yacht in block letters. The USS Siren was built in 1929 in Wilmington Delaware, but was not named the Siren until 1940 when it was commissioned into the US Navy as a minesweeper and patrol boat...

Sterling and rosewood handmade very large salad set by William Spratling, Mexico, c.1947. This glorious design has a curled silver design from the rosewood to the salad spoon and fork which is repeated at the silver ends. Each piece is signed "WS(in script)925 (around which says)WILLIAM SPRATLING TAXCO MEXICO bellmark 30" and they are in excellent condition. Each piece is 12 3/4" long. Beautifully designed and executed hand made rosewood and sterling butter dish with matching butter knife. The rosewood dish with silver inserts measures 7 3/4" long by 4 1/4' wide. A vintage sterling silver Caddy spoon by William Spratling with a lightly hammered finish and shovel design. This spoon is from the first design period.

Measures 3 5/8" long and 1 1/2" across. Dates from before 1946. Marked with the script 'WS' surrounded by Spratling Made in Mexico, and Spratling Silver. Marks show some wear. Has minor wear to the surface appropriate to the age, some tarnish and surface scratches.
