A classic figural sterling silver thimble jigger, the rim ornately engraved “Only A Thimble Full.” The workmanship is very good and the engraving among the nicest we’ve seen. Marked only “Sterling,” it was likely made by either Thomae or Webster.

Although the detailed design is similar, each of these Spratling candlesticks were handwrought a few years apart. Each carries specific Spratling hallmarks coinciding with their construction dates. The earlier example is 2 1/8" high. The later is 2 1/4" high. Each measures 2 1/4" across at the base. The pair weigh 155 grams. Both are in beautiful condition. A vintage mid century modernist pair of salad servers in sterling silver and exotic wood by William Spratling. One is an open slotted spoon/fork and the other is a large serving spoon. They each measure 12 1/4" long and 2 1/4" across the bowls. Marked with the conjoined 'WS', Taxco and 925. These were the marks used between 1933-40, the first design period.

Made of thick lightly hammered sterling with three small balls near where the silver is attached to the wood.
