This handwrought silver box was designed by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling in the 1950's. The box measures 3 1/2" X 2 5/8" and is 1" high & weighs 178 grams. The lid is inlaid with panels of rich brown & yellow shell held in place by sterling silver rivets. The box is in beautiful condition & fully hallmarked. Sterling Silver modernist bowl by Alfredo Sciarrotta (Italian-American 1907-1985), in sleek biomorphic form on open work scrolled foot, signed on bottom. Measures 9" wide, 3 1/4" high, and 4 1/2" wide. Nice heavy quality, all hand crafted, very subtle and lovely shape to body of bowl, on lovely scrolled foot rim with S shaped sections.
