Gorgeous vintage Hermes silk scarf (“carré”) worked in rich shades of medium blue, cream, golds, browns and greys. The design illustrates various 18th century gilded carriage or chariot wheels, including one emblazoned with an image of the Sun King, Louis XIV. The hand-rolled edges (rolled toward the front) are plump. “Hermès Paris” is worked into the design, as is the signature of the desiger, Caty Latham.

Sassy little pouch purse! This little guy is a charmer. Lovely leather and sleek and shiny ranch mink. The leather plaque on the interior zipper compartment says : made in Italy for Lord & Taylor, 100% mink. The lining ( in perfect condition just like the outside ) repeats over and over again: Paola del Lungo. Purse is 10" wide, 7 1/2" high, 3" side to side. The straps are 22" end to end.

Elegantly designed and of the finest leather, this Judith Leiber handbag is a classic. Center compartment sports a sassy, signed, gold-plated comb with its own pouch. That compartment has an open side pocket and a zippered one and has a clasp closure. The two open side pockets are great for carrying gloves, keys and the like. This purse was purchased from a very fine estate sale, and the quality of this Judith Jack purse reflects the sale from which it came. The marquisite (pyrite) is "grade A" mined in South America. The stones are hand set in sterling silver. The design and craftsmanship are superb. The lining repeatedly presents Judith Jack's name. The metal cartouche says "Judith Jack, made in Italy." Purse is 5 1/2" by 4 5/8". 1 1/2" front to back. Beaded chain is 11 1/2" end to end.

Fabulous sassy pouch and totally intact, a major feat for a little purse that ancient! Large blue faceted beads, two levels of tiny silver bead fringe and an eight strand long tassel. Great lining and metal drawstring. Some lucky person danced the Charleston with this little purse swinging from her wrist. Lovely vintage Saint Lawrence seal (not seal but type of deep woods animal) fur cape with fold-over collar that extends to create slit pockets, held together with one fur hook and a beautiful detailed silhouette featuring fully lined pink doupioni silk, monogrammed, Wilhelm's Albany label, circa 1930. From our World Handicrafts Collection (ex-Asia), a very striking and highly unusual vintage silk on cotton kilim style rug, Persia, executed in a bold multi-colored palette of red, gold, purple, blue, rust, green, brown, peach, pink, cream, turquoise and black. It's a legitimate reflex to assume this unusual kilim comes from somewhere in the Caucasus Region, but further research suggests that the lion and double eagles in the center panel are actually Persian motifs de guerre...

From our World Handicrafts Collection (ex-Asia), a fine vintage Afghani tribal rug, wool on wool handmade construction, using exclusively natural pigments / mineral dyes. A modestly sized but very well-executed and elegant example that works well in either a rustic or formal decor.

Size and Condition: 57 inches long, 39 inches wide. There are some random expected thread pulls and light wear commensurate with age and use, but overall excellent condition.

A Persian Shahsavan bag dating from around 1900. The face is woven in wool in Sumakh flatweave technique, showing different repeating ornaments. The back is made of stripes in Kilim. Originally this wool bag was a double bag. Condition: clean, vibrant colors. The selvages with signs of partial wear, the back with damaged area. Dimension: 52 cm x 47 cm. Provenance: Old Swiss collection.

A tightly hooked rug, American, perhaps Amish, from the 1930’s. Wool on burlap with hand attached black cotton backing. 29 inches long by 22 inches wide. The unusual free hand pattern shows black stars with pale blue crosses in an integrated geometric pattern.

Condition: Overall excellent condition with one professional darned repair on the border between one star and cross (see close up image)...
