A beautiful and very detailed woodblock print by Japanese artist Ohara Koson (1877-1945) of two herons standing in water with leaves and branches in the background, slightly obscuring the view of a bright crescent moon amongst a beautiful night sky, fading from darker tone blues into icy tones. The herons' feathers are actually embossed into the woodblock and have many other detailed features, such as the scales and claws of their feet and the gleam in their eyes...

Decanter in pink alabastro with squared body, cylindrical neck, and a ball stopper. Stopper is white and pink alabastro; neither stopper nor decanter neck are ground. Pink Alabastro covered jar is cylindrical with a matching lid. Decanter measures 9 inches (23 cm) tall with stopper (7 1/8 inches (18 cm) without), decanter body is 3 inches (8 cm) square; jar is 7 1/4 inches (18 cm) tall with lid (5 1/8 (13 cm) without) and is 3 1/2 inches (9 cm) in diameter. A vintage mid century modernist ashtray by William Spratling with three ball feet, rows of five applied disks on three sides, and three horizontal cradles.

Measures 2 1/4" high and 3 1/8" across. Marked with the conjoined 'WS', Taxco Mexico and 925. These were the marks used between 1933-40. In good condition, has some tarnish and very minor dings to the body and the feet. One of the disks on one row is slightly askew which adds to the hand made feel.
