Decorative paté jar, the lid of which is topped by a reclining, sleepy duck. Made around 1920 by Heubach, an old family business in Thuringia, Germany. Octagonal and hand painted with panels of stylized roses. In all, the design is between Art Nouveau / Jugendstil and Art Déco. With the printed Heubach Kunst Porzellan mark in use from 1910 to 1945, and impressed model number 10828. Height with the duck "4 ¼ / 11 cm and diameter "4 ¾ / 12 cm. Condition: fine.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Meissen in the 1920s. The saucer is 4 3/4 inches long, 4 1/4 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches deep. The cup is 1 3/4 inches high. A circa 1920's wood cut out picture, "Jack and Jill", 14" by 22" including frame, said to be "...a kit that had to be put together and then painted 'sometime in the 1920's", according to a small paper strip on backing.
