This Barbini from the 1960's will bring a smile when you look inside to see the large murine fish at the bottom. Six strategically placed bubbles surround the fish, whose body is dark green at the top, with subtle aventurine stripes on a gold leaf body. The amorphous bowl form is a champagne color, 6 1/2" diameter and 2 1/2" tall, and is in excellent condition with normal wear at the base consistent with its age.

Stunning arrangement by Flavio Poli. All three pieces are sommerso, in transparent ruby, cased in an ultra light tint of green. The pieces are crisp, exhibiting purity in form and color that is synonymous with Flavio Poli's designs. The bowl is one of the finest in this shape that I have seen. There are artist's initials impressed in the base. The piece depicts a family of koalas clinging to a tree limb. They are bright eyed and quite adorable. They are hand painted in life-like colors. This porcelain and silver tea cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Freidrich Deusch silver company circa 1950. The set retains its original paper labels which cover the porcelain blank mark. Vase stands 10 inches (25.4 cm) tall, and has a "double ruffled" rim. Made by Fenton 1947 to 1952 as model number 189. Unmarked, probably had paper label (Fenton glass was not marked "in mold" until 1953). A fascinating optical effect is caused by the clear glass "dots" that lends interest to this style vase. There is a small burst bubble in the clear casing glass in the lowest row of "dots" that occurred during manufacture. No chips, cracks or repairs. Circa 1950.
