This lovely sterling brush has a marquise-shaped porcelain insert with a blue and white Dutch windmill scene. It was manufactured by the Alvin Manufacturing Company of Providence, Rhode Island. This company, currently a division of Gorham, was founded in 1886 and was known for its sterling flatware, hollow ware, toilet ware, and novelties. Set of 3 Brutalist cast bronze candles in the shape of drip beeswax column candles. Even though you can stick a candle on them, they look terrific grouped together as an art form which is what I believe the artist intended. Very heavy, they measure 13 inches, 8.5 inches, and 7.75 inches high. All 3 are 3.25 inches in diameter.

Circa 1925 antique or vintage (about 100 years old!) framed ornate manuscript style ode to the home and house, from the writings of poet and author Maurine Hathaway, with gilt background and intriguing spots of color, measuring 10 1/2" by 9 1/2" fully opened out. The piece is hinged in the middle so is meant to stand on its own on a table top. I do not believe the color and gilt hand applied, though, it gives that appearance. There is a lot of gilt painted area with incised fleur de lis type designs and other diamond-shaped designs. There is wear on the knobs and in a number of other places, which contribute to a feeling of antiquity.
