The aime of the carvers is to take advantage of the native form of the mushroom. These masks are usually hung inside homes to function as protective effigies. Bhutanese colorful Bamboo Bangchung covered Food Basket, 8 3/4" diameter, 3 1/2" high include top cover, hand woven colored Bamboo, yak skin pull or handle is attached to bottom basket on the side to pull open, usually this type of baskets closes very tight to store food, leather handle on the side is helpful to open top and bottom apart. The condition is good.

Important and rather rare ancient statue from West Nepal (Karnali River districts but possibly Jumla region). The statue shows a protector standing with his hands folded in the ritual gesture of Namaste. Note the treatment of the arms showing a rounded rather than angular elbow joint. The eye openings are diamond-shaped. Semi-hard wood with black patina with residual plaster of offerings and mineral plasters which have either been cleaned or lost over time...

Among the Naga, the libation is a religious ritual to offer a drink (milk, alcohol, ...) to a deity. The Naga tribes are located in East India, district of Aranuchal Praddesh, these areas have remained in a great isolation until at the end of the 20 th century These horns come from large wild bovids "Bos frontalis" locally called "gayal or even "mithan"...

This mask expresses the harshness of the uncomfortable life in isolated districts. Wood is extremely hard probably from teak tree showing an amber to reddish color. The eyes, however, have been the subject of special work, the toothless mouth is opened to show a the tip of the tongue. This mask comes of the district of Humla H24 cm x 17 cm

Tibetan Himalayan low grade large Hard Silver Belt Buckle, Ca. 1930's, 11 1/2" wide, 3 3/4" high, 1 3/4" deep, slightly curved to fit the shape of the front part of the waist, and high relief deep hand hammered and impressed design of double goats in the center with three(3) inlaid turquoise stones, large loose ring is attached on the bottom and two(2) hooks are located on the back inside. The condition is good, no damages.
