A beautiful natural amber lump of the highest quality from the west coast of Denmark. -------Ocean find! --------Natural skin / surface, unpolished. A Perfect, uniform deep Yellow Egg Yolk natural colour! Smooth to touch. Measurements: 7 x 6 x 4,5 cm Weight: 34 grams.

A finely crafted lobed basin, supported on three feet in the shape prunus branches extending up the sides. For use in Ikebana flower arrangement. Signed in the bottom: Keishu ( Inami Keishu) . Original kiri-box fully signed. Showa, Mid 20th century. H 5.5 cm, D 29 cm. Condition: Excellent.

Sakiori coat whose wefts are strips from old vegetable indigo dye cotton cloth and warps are hemp yarn. Wefts are fine strips comparing with other sakiori items. The short sleeves are for ease of movement, as it is "hamagi", worn at the seaside. In good condition except for two mending patches. The first half of the 20th century. W:85cm, L:92cm

Vintage Chinese Gilt Silver Filigree Jadeite & Tourmaline Bracelet

It is 5.35 inches (13.6 cm) in inner circumference by 1.18 inches (3 cm) wide. The bead is 17.4 mm-19.4 mm. It is 42.2 gram.

The jadeite and tourmaline have inclusions and surface wears. The silver is tarnished and has minor loss of gilding (as seen in the photos).

Katsuda Tetsu(1896-1980) was a Japanese painter from the Taisho(1912-1926) and Showa era (1926-1989). He studied Western painting at Tokyo School of Fine Arts (now Tokyo University of the Arts). He turned to Japanese painting and became an apprentice to Yamamoto Shunkyo(1872-1933) in 1923...

Netsuke of a standing sumo wrestler wearing an apron and getting ready for a match. Excellent concentrated and tranquil face, great sense of volume to his limbs and body. Signed NORIMITSU inside the apron. Excellent sculpture. Height 2 1/8 inches.

Netsuke of standing Jurojin (one of the 7 Gods of happiness, usually associated with longevity) holding a scroll and a fan in his hands, with a reclining spotted deer (symbol of longevity) by his feet. Excellent carving - see the detailing of his face, incised fingernails, coat and spots of the deer. Great quality staining, beautiful patina. Signed SHINZAN on the bottom - for a brief discussion of the artist see CONTEMPORARY NETSUKE by Miriam Kinsey, p. 237. Height 2 1/16 inches.
