A hand carved wood totem pole on a round base, made for the tourist trade at mid-century, no signature, 7" high and 6 1/4" widest point on the wings, with original yellow sticker on the back from Indian Craft Shoppe, 905 Government Street, Victoria, British Columbia. There is a little chip off the tip of one wing, otherwise is in good condition.

In central Afghanistan where villages are commonly cut off from the rest of the world during the winter months, the time spent by Hazara women in embroidering textiles such as this one is considerable. Depicting eight-pointed stars and triangles densely embroidered in silk thread on a fine cotton linen cloth, this napkin measures 38 x 40.5 cm and is in excellent condition. Estimated age: mid to late 20th century.

Gentleman's wooden walking stick with a carved antler handle of an adorable little bobtail monkey, sitting upon an ocean cliffside and clutching a shell. There are various seashells carved around the monkey, including one with a hermit crab peeking its head out. Very precisely carved. Taisho period (1912-1925)

A Chinese famille-verte enamelled porcelain brushpot, with multiple warriers on horse and feet. Scenes separated by a band around the pot with a ruyi head top border and a wave bottom border. The inside and base glazed white, the rim left unglazed. No markings.

Enigmatic green and red florals capped by ascending butterflies alternate with bird images in the cathedral-like windows on the side of this large vessel by Kyoto artist Yamazaki Koyo enclosed in the original signed wooden box. This lovely Native American 10" tall and 6-1/2" across utility sewing basket has large hoop handles and the lid has a coiled wood yarn guide opening on the lid. It retains traces of the original natural dyes on the exterior while the interior of the body and lid show the bright red, orange and green of the original colours...
