Vintage Chinese wooden stand of simple rectangular shape with a waist register and 4 short legs. The top has four L-shaped recessed areas in the corners to accommodate a ceramic or bronze object. Beautiful dark dense rosewood with wonderful patina, in excellent condition. Maximum length of the top 104 mm, maximum width of the top 78 mm, height 37 mm.

The artisan, Akiyama Tadaichi, was born in Meiji 34 (1901) and passed away on May 19th, 1984 (Showa 59.) Two shades of black form ethnic patterns on this hishigata vessel by Kiyomizu Rokubei dating circa 1960 nearly identical to figure 12 (page 85) of the catalog Yagi Kazuo to Kiyomizu Rokubei exhibited at the Muse Tomo in Tokyo in 2017. It is 18 x 13 x 24.5 cm (roughly 7 x 5 x 10 inches) and is in excellent condition. This came from the Rokubei family estate. No box
