A weaving pulley in the shape of a woman with pinned-up coiffure ending in two horns. Carved from hardwood with dark patina, the reel is worked from a nut or another material. Collected by the Swiss ethnologist Charlotte von Graffenried, author of the book "Akan Goldweights". Condition: traces of usage, the body and one horn with a split. Crafted by one of the most well-known potting families from the Meiji period (Ito Tozan), this black Raku tea bowl displays a glossy sheen and gentle swells rippling through the clay body. Kake-futon (comforter, top cover) made of hand-spun cotton with beautiful katazome (stencil-resist-dye). The pattern looks imitating shibori (tie-dye). It is natural indigo dyed. It has beautiful green cotton lining and can be used as it is, for example, for a cover or throw. In excellent condition except for a few stains and a mending patch. Trunk box made of wicker, bamboo and leather. It has washi (Japanese handmade paper) lining with kanji letters. It has black leather for reinforcement. In good condition but has some wear in the leather. It is tight when the lid is put on the box, so better to use separately. The first half of the 20th century. 44cm x 31cm x 24cm
Chinese porcelain baluster vase painted in late 'famille rose' style on a white ground with a group of Immortals resting in a landscape. The base glazed white with a six character Jiaqing mark in iron red and of the period.

Condition: There is a gash in the top rim extending approximately 1". A restorer can repair this vase at minimal cost.
A rare carved caramel and honey-colour cameo agate snuff bottle of compressed pear-form shape. The bottle is raised on an oblong foot ring and is carved on one side through an opaque caramel-colored area of the stone to the semi-translucent soft honey-colored body with a scholar watching a bat in flight. Matching original stopper.

Chinese watercolour painting depicting the god of longevity or Shou Lao. The picture is called "Image of the Star of Longevity" (after the three star gods: prosperity, happiness, longevity). The inscription describes a story about a Daoist that dates to the reign of the Northern Song emperor Ningzong. The artist is surnamed Yao.

A pair of Chinese opaque yellow glass bottle vases. Each with tall carved necks and rounded rims, the necks decorated with the tails of dragons that eminate from the rounded bodies . The two five claw dragons chasing a flaming pearl through the heavens. The base plain.

Painted in Qianjiang style with one face with two figures beneath a willow tree. The opposite showing a quail on the ground with flowerheads, the remaining faces with texts. Side relief elephant mask ring handles. Thickly glazed with an orange-peel effect on the outside. Glazed on the inside and base with the base rim left bare. Various seals in red. Dated 1911
