The pine symbolizes "evergreen" and was a popular motif for celebratory occasions such as weddings and New Year's. It is one of the "Three Friends of Winter," which also includes plum and bamboo. From our Southeast Asia Collection, a fine and very large Khmer (Cambodian) handmade silk textile now framed as a wall hanging, executed in traditional Khmer palette using a combination of natural vegetal dyes and synthetic colors, depicting various animal and geometric motifs. A very striking and dramatic piece not commonly encountered.

Size and Condition: 94 1/2 inches wide, 40 1/2 inches tall. Some minor thread pulls here and there but overall excellent condition.

Beautiful pair of 800 silver sabbath candlesticks brought from Germany to the USA before World War II. They have the markings (which my camera was unable to photograph) of the maker Korner Proll, Berlin. They measure 12" tall, and other than being slightly bent, they are in perfect condition with no dents or repairs, and would be a beautiful addition to any collection.

A Chinese Bronze Censer, Qing Dynasty. Diameter approximately 15.6 cm (across handles), height approximately 6 cm and weight approximately 610 gram. The censer has a dent at the base. Good condition.
