Kodogu

Kodogu are small sword fittings including menuki, fuchi-kashira and kozuka. Menuki are hilt ornaments assisting with grip. Fuchi-kashira are ornamental hilt caps also reinforcing design. Kozuka are ornamental handles holding utility knife blades (kogatana). Kōgai were varied purpose implements with general overall form but with secondary uses in addition to grooming.
