A large silk satin fan, with sixteen gilt decorated wood "sticks", hand-painted depicting four birds amongst flowering prunus or cherry branches. This item is made with Chinese silk but was probably made in France and was retailed in Liverpool - unusually complete with its original box which carries a dispatch date of 9th November 1898. The saddle seat is Leather and decorated with small tuffs of wool yarn and strips of flat metal (presumed low grade silver) which are embed into the leather in an ornate geometric design.

I replaced the tie which secured the front of the seat to the metal saddle tree...the original cord was literally falling apart...Limited research indicates this saddle was from Rajastan India.

Antique Nepalese bronze bodhisatva seated on a double lotus throne. The piece has the original copper base with stamped design. The robes of the figure are skillfully incised with a beautiful cloud and scrolling vine design. The hands are in muddra as they hold a small container. Some old loses. It measures 8" tall 5 " wide 3" deep. 19th century, obtained in the 1960s in Katmandu .

A very finely potted and finely painted blue and white vase depicting three five-clawed dragons, amongst cloud scrolls, in pursuit of flaming pearls and above stylized breaking waves. The base carries the six character seal mark of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795) but, after three years deliberation, we have come to the conclusion that this item was probably made later, circa 1880-1920, during the late Qing or early Republic periods...

Antique Tibetan kapala, or human skullcup, with a beautiful bronze stand. In Tibet, it was considered a great honor to have one's cranium turned into a kapala, which would be used for religious purposes. Kapalas are used in the Hindu Tantra and Buddhist religions. The skull itself is very old and is lined with nickel. The bronze stand has a beautiful lotus design, skulls going all around, the image of a kneeling worshipper, and hoof shaped feet...

 

This very well carved early 20th century wood netsuke is 1 1/8” high, 1 7/8” long and 1” thick. It depicts two rams, one standing and one lying down. It is signed “Gyokuseki” and is in excellent condition.

A Yuan - Ming longquan celadon stem cup, everted rim with ribbed stem and unglazed footring, the stem is imitates a stalk of bamboo, the stem cup is covered with green glaze.

Stemcup is in good condition with crack line on the rim, please see picture for detail.

A Very Fine Koryo Sea-Green Celadon Shallow Dish;12th C.: Korea, Koryo dynasty, 12th Century. This well balanced shallow dish applied with a beautiful sea-green crackled and transparent celadon glaze overall, set on a raised ring foot, its foot rim unglazed and its base sea-green celadon glazed. It’s in very good condition with a few short hairline cracks on the rim. Measurements: 14.8cm x 3.6cm.

An impressive quite large censer with elephant - head legs and handles and brightly enamelled with the Famille Rose colours. Underglaze blue Qianlong mark but probably 19th century. H : 35,7 cm. Condition : The body + lid in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. Old retouched glaze losses at two small places.

A Ming dynasty Wanli period blue and white large bowl, rounded side with deep center and glazed base, bowl decorated with flower motif at exterior and scenery of sailing boat at inner wall.

A very rare set of six sterling silver demitasse spoons in the "Holly & Mistletoe" pattern by Tiffany & Co. This is a more ornate variant of the company's more common "Holly" pattern. The handles are decorated on both sides with holly and mistletoe foliage and mistletoe berries. The elongated bowls have notched shoulders and are parcel-gilt. The spoons are fully hallmarked and have the date letter used 1873-91. The spoons are presented in an old Tiffany flatware bag.
