Flying birds, birds in branches and at rest are depicted with great naturalism: morning doves with peonies, cranes flying through golden clouds, and egrets walking through water lilies. Very rare heavy hardwood mask, with strong features in relief, an incised sacred trident on its forehead (the traditional weapon of Hindu god Shiva), round metal added eyes, large nose and mouth. Beautiful age patina, with traces of original pigments meant to enhance the mask features. Himalayan region, early 20th century. Height: 27 centimeters. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Old accidents which do not impair the mask beauty and unique quality, otherwise very good condition

Hupa basket, California, in large size and in beautiful condition, with open gallery edge at top, a woven foot that enables it to sit flat, the sides decorated with zig zag designs in cream color with dark edge on bottom band. Measures 10 7/8" on one side, 10 1/8" on the other and is roughly 4 3/4" high (a bit higher on one side than the other). The condition is remarkable, very little wear, no fading or losses, has been well cared for...

A heavy densely carved hardwood Anglo Indian stand. This item was made in South West India, in either Karnataka or Maharashtra,probably during the late 19th or early 20th Century. Condition - good - no damages. 47.5cm (18.75inches) high; 43cm (17inches) wide.

This is a beautiful old style Plique A Jour vase signed fr Kumeno. Rims are silver. It stands 3 1/2 inches tall and is more attractive than the images show. There is a hard to notice line shown in the last image.

This is an amazing small cloisonne vase. It is only 5 inches tall but has as much fine work as a great 12 inch vase. The rims are silver. It is not signed but the enamel colors and wire designs in the flowers appear to be the work Hayashi. Condition is excellent.

This wood carving of a RuYi scepter with hard stone inset is a late 19th or early 20th century product. It is 14” long and 3 ¾” wide from the head of the scepter. It depicts several Lingzhi around an old tree branch. In Chinese mythology, Linzhi is a supernatural mushroom and represents longevity. There is a carved Lingzhi shape hard stone inset on the scepter head. It is in very good condition.

Interior of dish is decorated with multi-colored overglaze enamels in a pattern known as “thousand flowers” in the West. Most of the various blossoms are painted in thick white enamel which is then shaded with different colors of enamel glaze. Space between the flowers is filled with gold enamel. The reverse is enameled with a design of three flower sprays. A six-character Guangxu mark is painted on the base in red enamel...
