This is a hammered sheet silver breastplate with the neatest iconography that I have seen. This piece screams pre-Columbian. It depicts a fanged anthropomorphic transformational diety war god figure in full regalia holding 3 double-headed snakes/serpents wearing an elaborate feline/monster headdress showing fierce demon facial features. It shows many levels of patination. It is 7.2" X 5.7". It is attributed to the Chavin culture...

A very large and impressive Neolithic period stamp seal, provenanced to Amüg-Ebene near Antioch in Western Mesopotamia / Eastern Anatolia, c. 6th. millenium BC of even earlier.

Rectangular seal of grey stone with a long ridged pierced handle and a grit pattern in the base.

Condition: Near VF, one corner chipped, lightly affecting the imprint...

Interesting and elaborate cylinder seal carved in greyish black stone, with a bearded whorshipper standing before the combined alters of Ashur and Sin or Nabu. Nice Assyro-babylonian style and fine details.

Size: 20 mm. tall and 8-9 mm. wide.

Condition: Good Very fine, light wear and completely intact.

A lovely ancient Egyptian Scarab, more than 2,300 years old, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 11/16” long (17 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and to help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup. It's large and beautiful.

A very nice and quite interesting cylinder seal in a hard black stone with white inclusions on one side, Late-Assyrian to Neo-Assyrian period, c. 12th. cent.-9th. cent. AD.

A wonderful depiction of a 'Scorpioman' and a 'fishman', both depicted as winged matured men with long beards and pointy hats or helmets. Their lower bodies evolve into a fishtail and a scorpions tail. All within a heering pattern border.

Size: 29-30 mm.

An authentic marble stele fragment depicting an Apsara, measuring 4-3/4" in height by 3-1/2" in width. The carving is very well done and the details are crisp. The surface retains its original patina. A very fine example, mounted on a custom stand (the base of the sculpture has been drilled with a hole to accommodate the shaft). Please see the photos, as they are a part of the description.

Five dynasties yue yao "mise" small double gourd ewer. good condition with just very small chipped at the spout. 8,4cm high.

Measuring 3" in height, this cast bronze ceremonial knife dates to the period from 700-1000AD, and is from the South Coast of Peru. The upper border consists of a serpent bodied creature with fanged heads at both ends, each wearing a spiked crown. Deeply incised deity heads appear in profile at the top of each side of the blade. The piece has acquired a beautiful blue-green patina. An intact suspension loop is visible at the top,as shown in the photos.
