A pair of good opaque opaline vases lavishly decorated with bouquets and sprigs of hand painted flowers as well as gilt rings at the top and around the foot. The bases with slightly hollow ground pontils. The style is typical of the French from the middle of the 19th century. Height 11 ¾ inches (30 cm).

Condition: no damage to the glass, some wear to the gilding around the top, especially on one.

Terrific American majolica dish in the form of a fish. The painting on this example is especially nice, with very lifelike colors. The modeling is very crisp and clean. The back has a decorator's mark, but no maker's mark. It is possibly a product of Griffin, Smith & Hill. Perfect condition. Circa 1880. 7-1/2" x 10".

The plate has a diameter of 10 inches and is 1 1/2 inches deep. It has an elaborate reticulated border that extends 1 1/2 inches into the plate. The center of the plate has a cobalt blue ground. A Collection of four medium sized porcelain boxes used to decorate the ancestral altar. The boxes are in the shape of a peach, a persimmon, a melon and a squash, and all have turquoise glazed interiors. Such boxes were used to hold trinkets and precious offerings when worshiping ones' ancestors. The peach measure 3" in diameter, The melon measures 3 1/4" in diameter, the persimmon measures 3 1/2" long, and the squash measures 3 3/4" long. The peach and melon are in excellent condition...
