Above the scenery, a four line inscription. Two character mark beneath. The rim is protected by a bronze circle, but this is not meant to hide any blemish. China, Qing Dynasty. Height: 3,3 cm. These are five extremely rare copper skull bells/pendants that were found in an elite tomb at Monte Alban, Oaxaca in 1936. Each bell in about 1/2". They date to 1000-1500AD. Copper was mined largely from Guerrero. No cleaning or restoration, exactly as found. A must have for any pre-Columbian metallurgy collection.

This is an extremely rare spear point crafted from pottery and dating at least to the Han period of ancient China (circa 200 BC). It could be older than that but I am having difficulty locating references on these items. Stylistically the piece is likely from one of the minority cultures in Southeast Asian and the only other ones I have seen were attributed to the Dong Son...

Hanging scroll. Various insects walking in line with luggage, simulating a lord (daimyo) traveling with his entourage to or from the capital (samurai or daimyo gyoretsu). A butterfly, suzumushi, praying mantises, yellow jackets and grass hoppers are traveling in a line, holding flowers and grasses for keyari, carrying a honeycomb for a palanquin, and berries for luggage.

A sturdy little earthenware salt, French, c 1760-80. Octagonal and decorated with a diaper pattern and cornflowers in a rustic variation of the Louis XVI style. Width "3/ 7.5 cm, height "1 ½ / 3.5 cm. Condition: a small area rough and unglazed, a mishap caused during fabrication (cf. pic 2).

A Japanese Arita lobed dish decorated with a dragon descending from clouds, grasping the pearl of wisdom. The back with a fuku mark. The dish dates from 1750~1790. A similar design to Chinese examples of the Yongzheng period.

Approximately 14.6 cm diameter. Perfect condition.

Two small Ming jarlets. Sort of wabi-sabi, but no major damage. There are some surface glaze firing cracks and fritting on the mouth rim on the larger jar. Larger jar D: 6.7cm/2.7in and H: 5.3cm/2.1in, smaller jar D: 5.8cm/2.3in and H: 5cm/1.9in.

Beautiful Chinese antique display shelf made of Solid Jichi-mu wood (very heavy). The chest has three large display shelves, and two small drawers just under the top display area. The drawers are carved with scrolling mist and chimera and outfitted with brass pulls. Very nicely detailed. Each display area is enclosed on three sides with a low carved lattice work. Late 19th - early 20th Century Size: 69 1/2" high x 35" wide x 16 1/2" deep.
