Nice lot of two smaller buddha figures, Thailand and probably used inside amulets of shrines, c. 15th.-18th. cent. AD.

The larger buddha is probably from c. 18th. century but could be earlier, finely details, sukhothai style with nice old patina. The other excarvated and probably dating pre 16th. century at least if not medieval.

Pair of antique Qing dynasty (1644-1911), Chinese blue-and-white porcelain hexagonal vases made of very good quality semi-transparent white porcelain with flared neck, high slanted shoulders, tall waisted neck, flared rim, and splayed foot. Each is decorated in the Canton style and finely hand-painted in underglaze with vibrant tons of cobalt blue with a continuous riverscape scene, mountains, trees, architectural elements, and human figures...

A tall, elegant, and beautiful English ratafia DSOT (double series opaque twist) glass. Ratafia glasses are quite uncommon, and this is a particularly fine example. The elongated conical bowl is molded and leads into a stem with a pair of spiral threads outside of a lace twist.

A Chinese Export coffee cup, slightly ribbed and foliated, a rather unusual shape. Enameled decoration of flower garlands in European Rococo style. Early Qianlong period (c 1740), a give-away as for the age is a little flower in iron red and gold to each side. Height "2 ¼ / 6.2 cm. Condition: little black spots and two hairlines (cf. pics).

A pair joss-stick holders with Buddhist lions standing on a leave-shaped base and a single one with wooden stand. Made of biscuit porcelain and glazed in the "sancai" palette. Dating to the Kangxi period (1662-1722). Condition: the balls of the male lions are lost, both with small restorations, the bulging eyes of the beasts with glue residues, one lion with small flake on the tail. Dimension: pair height: c. 10.1 cm, single one: c. 15.5 cm high.

A fine old ceremonial sake pourer, hisage, hand made from copper and decorated with shochikubai (pine, plum and bamboo), minogame and cranes. Also present are two prominent Tokugawa family crests and on the handle three 16 petalled chrysanthemum crests and another on the rear handle mount. 19th century or earlier. Fine work.

The body of the pourer has probably been raised from one sheet of copper...

This porcelain pot de crème was produced in Austria at the Royal Vienna Factory before 1820. It has an under glaze blue bee hive mark as well as impressed numbers. It is 3 1/4 inches high including the lid. The finial on the lid is in the shape of a flame. It is decorated with hand painted grape leaves that encircle the lid and the cup. The style of the handle and painting are quite similar to Meissen porcelains...

This extraordinary wood carving is a figure of Santo Nino enveloped in an oval cartouche with swirling flourishes above and below. Nino is robed in dramatic array as she holds a globe in one while giving the sign of Christ in the other. The drapery and decoration of it is exceptional as is the rich relief carving. A beautifully cast bronze dragon waterspout from an ancient Japanese garden in Nara prefecture made to rise over the edge of a water basin, the water trickling out through his mouth. It retains the original bronze pipe and connector, overall, in excellent original condition. The dragon itself is roughly 25 x 13 x 20 cm tall (10 x 5 x 8 inches) and weighs 3.9 kg (8.5 pounds). Including the pipe roughly 50 cm long.

A fine PAIR of Chinese mid nineteenth century plates in a hand painted design of floral baskets with gold leaf highlights and trim. Each octagon shape plate measuring 9.5 inches diameter

This late 19th century Chinese carved bamboo arm rest is 6 ¾ inches long and 2 ¼ inches wide. It depicts an autumn scene; three frogs resting behind lotus leaf and dry lotus pod. The poem on the top translate as: “When crabs are growing to maturity and yellow mums are withering away, I am drinking wine beneath a blue autumn sky.” The workmanship of the picture and calligraphy are just elegant. It has nice patina and is in excellent condition.

A comparatively large sized Japanese Amitabha AMIDA-NYORAI from the Mid Edo Period - about 200 years old.

19th Century Korean Hat Box made entirely of Exotic Paulownia (Odong-namu) Wood, from the collection of a French diplomat stationed in Korea in the 1950s. Paulownia is very desirable for collectors because of its beautiful wide grain, light weight, and fire and bug-resistant qualities. An antique Japanese bronze okimono statue of a Japanese Ama or pearl diver walking to her boat in the wind. The artist conveyed the wind intensity by the way that her headscarf has unraveled as she keeps it atop her head. Her feet nearly reach the water embankment as she readies herself for the work ahead. The artist, Kyoi Masatsune - 京井政常,signed his name with a hallmark near her feet.
