A Chinese Yue Celadon Glazed Chicken-Head Ewer. Circa, 220-589, Six Dynasties.
This jar features a compressed globular body with a short neck that flares to a thick upper flange which is slightly depressed in the center. Opposite its thick curved handle is a chicken-head spout. Two lug handles set on its shoulders and is covered with a green celadon glaze. Its base is unglazed exposing a compact grey stoneware clay.

Antique Japanese ikebana basket with tall, arching handle. Oval form body on a round foot. Fine split bamboo is tightly woven around the upper and lower portion of the body. A wide band in the center is accented with a wave pattern. The handle is tightly wrapped to create a series of small squares. The basket utilizes many different types of knot work.

A Korean, celadon bowl with incised decoration of two parrots to the interior of the bowl; Goryeo dynasty. The beautiful bluish green colour has turned an olive-green colour, in part, due to the incomplete oxidising atmosphere of the kiln.

Finely carved mask, with strong features and delicate painting meant to enhance the strength of the character it represents. The character depicted here is of Hashihime. A Chinese, qingbai, bowl incised with a sponaneous 4floral design; Song dynasty. The rim of the bowl is notched to give the impression of six petals. Overall covered in a greenish glaze, except for the outer base and foot-rim. Likely from Fujian province.
Dimensions; 17.8 cm diameter.
Condition; there is some wear to the glaze, a few small rim chips, and a couple of short hairlines from the rim. It has a resonant tone when tapped.

Purchased over 40 years ago at Restoration Hardware, this archaic style bronze ram's head was the only piece they had in their store. I suspect it was a decorative item that RH purchased as an accent piece for one of their room settings. The holes on this reproduction ram indicates that the original bronze ram was affixed to an instrument. An impressive piece, this was probably made in the first decade of the 20th C Measures 14" long, 7.5" high, and 12" across the horns.
