Of elegant pear shaped form. 18th. century, unmarked. Unfortunalely on all the images of the piece the blue color of the vase is much too light. In nature the vase has an wonderful very intensive blue tone. H : 18,8 cm. Condition : Perfect. Provenance : Old German collection.

This tripod censer has an extremely well potted rare shape. The censer is covered with an superb opaque glaze of finely mottled turquoise and purplish-blue tone. A piece of superlatives. The Mark on the piece is the Mark of the legendary Imperial Supervisor Tang Ying but the piece probably is from the nineteenth century. Diameter : 14,8 cm. H : 7,4 cm. Condition : Perfect. Provenance : Old south German collection.

This jade pendant is well-carved with a design of peony flowers and leaves in low relief. The carving extends to the back, though simpler and flatter. It is a deep green with areas of lighter mottling, but when held to the light, it shows a brilliant translucent apple-green. It has an old probably 14k gold jump ring for attachment.

This porcelain chocolate cup and saucer was produced in France in the late 19th century. The blank was manufactured by Tressemann and Vogt Limoges and the decoration was done by an unknown decorator using a spurious Sevres marking. This white jade is of an even pale celadon-white tone with a few small veins of light russet. It is carved in the form of a six-lobed melon standing upright and supported by four large leaves that emanate from a vine that runs beneath it. The vine is carved all the way through and flattened on the bottom to provide a stable surface for the stone to stand vertically. This incense-burner has a flaring rim form raised on three ogee feet and has its original patina and considerable carbon incrustation from many years of use. Two lion's head handles embellish the body and the cast Da Ming Xuande mark is centered on the base. The interior is darkened from use and the exterior shows small areas of darkened bronze where not obscured by blackish patina. There is a slight dent to the rim. A small underglaze blue decorated stem dish painted inside with three 17th/18th Centuty style cranes and outside with three bats. The stem is decorated with buddhist knots and stylized plantain leaves. To the inside of the base is the four character mark of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722) but this item was probably made later, during the 19th Century. Condition - there are two repairs to the rim, each with an associated short hairline. No further damages or restoration...

This porcelain parasol handle was produced in Germany by a Dresden manufacturer in the late 19th century. It is unmarked but the workmanship is definitely from Dresden. It is 5 1/2 inches long and the knob is 1 1/2 inches in diameter. The ground color is cobalt blue. The knob has a scene of lovers in a garden inside a cartouche of ornate raised gilding. The rest of the knob is covered with gilded swirls and flourishes. The stem has gilded cartouches containing tiny cherubs...

The wood appears to be old jichi wood that is exceptionally well-carved with twisting tree trunks of pine and plum intertwined to form the body, while stylized pine needles and plum blossoms encircle the perimeter. The pine and plum trunks are carved to show their contrasting textures. The piercing and depth of the carving give an energetic quality to the piece. An Edo period Oribe sake bottle of simple but full proportions and with classically Japanese Zen decoration - austerely yet sensitively placed grass and blooms decoration in iron oxide on the softly crackled opaque off-white glaze ever so slightly scorched in the kiln on two sides where the body is almost slightly exposed and oxidized to a buff tone at those points. The cut foot also glazed save for a crescent reserve around the center where the warm gray body is exposed...

A rare and striking large porcelain bowl made by the William Reid manufactory. The scene, handpainted in an underglaze soft grayish-blue, depicts oriental buildings and foliage. The interior has a border of alternating flower heads and dots, and the bottom has a workman's mark. Both the large size of the bowl, and the scene itself, contribute to the rarity of this piece.
