Wonderful large carved wooden face of a man. His mouth is open wide and whiskers splay outward. He has a wide nose and large eyes. He appears to be wearing an oval shaped hat on which is carved an animal of some sort with long striped tail and clawed feet. The wood is beautifully worn from years of weather and rain. There are traces of white and yellow paint. Thailand. Early 19th century.

This Chinese bamboo armrest is dated summer, 1876. The artist¡¯s name is Wen Zhu. A large character at the top of the rest reads ¡±Lu¡± or prosperity. It measures 7 1/8 inches long and 2 ¾ inches wide. It is in very good condition.
