Purchased over 40 years ago at Restoration Hardware, this archaic style bronze ram's head was the only piece they had in their store. I suspect it was a decorative item that RH purchased as an accent piece for one of their room settings. The holes on this reproduction ram indicates that the original bronze ram was affixed to an instrument. An impressive piece, this was probably made in the first decade of the 20th C Measures 14" long, 7.5" high, and 12" across the horns.

Leather products were rare and expensive during the Qing Dynasty in China. Fans were in common usage and a quality fan would have required a proper protective case. A wealthy woman could have afforded this suede fan case and would have considered it as the acceptable accessory to properly detail her finery.

The case is 9+ inches long with silk cord for drawstrings, elaborately knotted and tasseled.

This porcelain tea cup and suacer was produced in Bohemia by Pirkenhammer in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 5 ½ inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The rim of the saucer and the foot of the cup are reticulated. The set has a wine colored ground color with reserves of gilded urns filled with colorful flowers. The hand painting and raised gilding has fine detail. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold...

This is a long thick zanshi cotton boro noragi from the Meiji era. The dark indigo shade is the warp, and the white thread is the weft. Thick hand-spun threads are also mixed in the weft. This porcelain bowl was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufacturer in the 1890s. The bowl is 13 inches from handle to handle, 6 inches high and 8 inches wide. The porcelain is of the highest quality and is very substantial in weight. The footed bowl has a classic style using only gold trim on the white, reticulated porcelain for decoration. A pair of large Chinese made and decorated porcelain serving plates for the Western market circa 1790. Good flowers painted in a complex design covering most of the surface. The square edge appears to be gilded with something more like bronzing powder than fire gilding. 11 1/8 inches (28.5 cm) diameter.

Condition: one with minor rim chips, minor stacking wear and some black firing spots. The other with a fairly significant rim chip and associated hairline.

This very nice traditional Chinese pillow has leg supports which fold up when it is not in use. The top is made of shaped and stained bamboo slats which flex for soft comfort. Antique Chinese Qing dynasty 17th- early 18th century blue and white porcelain incense burner - censer, finely potted, with convex exterior walls rising to an everted lip, supported on a short foot.
