Late Qing Dynasy (1880s 10 1911) century Chinese Peking glass seal in cylindrical shape. Wonderful simple piece appropriate for a scholar’s table, very pleasant finish to the surface. Transparent glass with the slightest pink tinge. The bottom is carved with two raised characters that can be translated as EASTERN GARDEN, red seal paste in the grooves. Imprint of the seal is shown on Enlargement 1. Height 2 3/8 inches, diameter 1/2 inches.

Cast bronze Celtic warrior armlet torque decorated with engraved geometrical pattern, Hallstatt culture (about 800 to 475BC).
MEASUREMENTS: The inner circumference including the gap is 8 ½ inches (21 ½ cm) Diagonally:3 ¾ inches (9 ½ cm).
CONDITION: in good condition with a beautiful dark patina.

An oval box made of white brass (baitong). The top lid incised with banana leaves, chrysanthemum and bamboo. The inside of the lid with an abrasive surface for grinding ink. With copper lining and base. Dimension: 7.6 cm x 5.8 cm x 2.6 cm. Condition: traces of use, top lid with spot and some wear.

A Chinese reticulated iron porcelain snuff bottle with a dragon and phoenix among clouds beneath key fret and ryui border, neck with a silver rim, jade stopper. The red color is the same as used when decorating porcelain, though in this case it is applied as a solid color. The desired effect is to imitate red cinnabar lacquer. Circa, probably from the Jiaqing period (1796 - 1820). Height 3".

Ancient Chinese Buddhist Pottery Amulet - Ming Dynasty

Antique pair of bronze candlesticks in the form of two young Chinese boys. Dressed in traditional formal Chinese robes, the children each hold an elaborate two tiered candlestick in the form of porcelain bowls. One boy holds a fan while the other holds the corner of his robe. Elegant and detailed.

Wonderful patina on this old tray from the Philippines. Woven from bamboo strips, this tray is approx 30 inches in diameter.

Japanese early 20th century cloisonne vase by the Tamura Cloisonne Company. The blue colored vase has a large and beautiful yellow rose blossom. the silver toned metal rims appear to be chrome. The vase measures 9 7/8" tall and 6" in diameter. The vase comes with TOMOBAKO, the original artist signed wooden storage box.

Ancient Chinese horse snaffle bridle-bit, Eastern Zhou Dynasty, Spring and Autumn period (770-476 BC).

Made of bronze bit with a mouthpiece composed of two canons connected in the center, each cast with a loop at both ends.

Beautiful Okinawan uchikui which is a furoshiki (wrapping cloth) with cherry blossom design. The dye technique is tsutsugaki and bingata-zome which is traditional Okinawan dyeing technique adding colorful vegetable color or pigment. Uchikui is dyed with either tsutsugaki or katazome (stencil-resist-dye). Uchikui is used for not only wrapping but also covering gifts. This uchikui is two panels sewn together. Late 19th century to 1920s good size Japanese sterling silver and copper cigarette case with inlaid and carved landscape of snow covered Mount Fuji rising above clouds, and a wide bay with rocks, pines, huts and sailing boat boats, with design continuing on the back of the case. Inlays are cut all the way through, so the image on the inside of the case is the mirror image of the one on the outside. Excellent quality carving, wonderful inlays with differently colored patinas...

An unusual Tang pottery of a standing dwarf wearing a robe and hat painted in original orange pigments. He has a stocky figure and a sweet countenance on his downward tilt head. He is full of character. Figures such as these are considered a symbol of good luck and are not easy to find.
