A very nice peacock or electric blue glass inkwell, the body cut in large facets. The hinged lid is topped with a figural cherub cast in glass of a matching color. The figure is completed with a matte acid finish that contrasts beautifully with the main part of the inkwell’s body. We’ve only seen this particular lid once and the figure was molded in colorless glass.

Edwardian sterling silver baby cup. Made by William B. Kerr in Newark, ca 1915. Upward tapering sides and scroll handle. Acid etched frames with animals, including an elephant, camel, and gazelle. Frame with American eagle has vacant space for engraving the name of the cutest and cuddliest beast. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. 1684. Very good condition.

This rare and unusual ivory carving of a sage is an early 20th century product. It is 10” high (with fitted hard wood base, it is 11” high), 3 ½” wide and 3” thick both measured from bottom. An antique Japanese small Kimono Tansu chest made of Kiri (Paulownia) and Sugi (Cyrptomeria) woods. All original Urushi lacquer finish and hand forged iron hardware including the Hirute style handles. Four drawers of varying sizes and a hinged door that secured 2 small drawers where valuables were kept. This would make a great side chest or a compact dresser for a small bedroom.

Large Japanese temple cloth woven with cotton and strips of paper, great for a wall decoration. The dimensions are 107" x 47" (271.8cm x 119.4cm). Many things in Japan were made from paper, just like soy sauce was added in almost all cooking. Textiles were no exception. Some monks in Japan still make their own paper for their clothes. There are few beautiful samurai haori jackets made out of paper that still exist today in textile museums (which we have only seen in photos)...
