Important embossed high content (+800) silver bowl, superbly decorated with detailed legendary/religious characters in niches all around the body, surrounded and surmounted by foliage design and resting on a stylised lotus decor. Height: 9.8 cm, diameter 10.4 cm, weight: 259 gr. Burma, late 19th century. Excellent condition. Provenance: acquired from a Bangkok (Thailand) antique dealer in 1978.

Antique Japanese wooden fish jizai, designed for hanging a pot over fire to boil. Has a long iron chain with attached hook running from the tail, through the body, and coming out of the bottom. Very detailed carving showing charring from the fire.

Twelve(12) English Wedgwood Game Plates, Pink Octagon shape, colorful Pheasants in the center on the crazed white glazed center bordered by pink wide rim, 8 1/4" to 8 3/4" wide, marked "Imperial Porcelain, Wedgwood & Co, England" in green, and also impressed mark "Wedgwood, England" with numbers. The gold around the rims are somewhat worn, no damage.

A boxed set of sterling silver demitasse spoons by Paye & Baker. The set comprises two each of three different floral themes, all worked in the same intaglio style with glossy flowers and foliage against a stippled background. Two of the spoons are decorated with a pattern of wild roses, two with morning glories and two with pansies. The edges of the stems and handles are shaped to match the patterns. The bowls are finished with matte gilding...

Up for sale is one out of the 4 silk panels, #2, an antique Chinese Qing Dynasty Cantonese embroidery, dated to the reign of emperor GuangXu. Panel is embroidered with birds and flowers, all in a beige color silk satin ground. Executed in various embroidery techniques. Intricate work ! Overall in very good condition. A Japanese blue & white porcelain dish, moulded in ‘kraak’ style with the cavetto featuring butterflies and peaches in relief. The rinka or petalled edge with flowers. The centre of of the dish has a depiction of a gated pavilion set in a fabulous garden. Arita 1750 ~ 1770. A bowl with a very similar border design and alternate moulded butterflies and peaches is shown in the Catalogue of the Shibata Collection, item 3321.

An ivory snuff bottle in the form of of an attractive lady of status carrying a fan. The head can be removed to reveal the snuff. Probably Japanese work for the Chinese market at the end of the 19th century.

Approximately 9.2 cm high. In very good condition with only a little chipping to the back of the collar, noted in the photographs...

A superb Victorian Art Nouveau baby rattle, the handle carved from a large piece of mother-of-pearl and adorned on either side with a gorgeous Art Nouveau lady's head worked in sterling silver and finished with three silver bells. Although unsigned, the particulars of the design are very similar to a known Unger design. Marked "Sterling".

Origin: America, ca. 1895. Condition: excellent except for the bells which show considerable wear from a toothing child. Size: 4-1/2" long.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany, especially for Charles Ahrenfeldt and exported with the name Saxonia. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/4 inches and the cup is 2 1/8 inches high. The porcelain has designs molded into it. There is a scene on the front of the cup of lovers in a garden. It is surrounded by ornate gilding. There are numerous sprigs of flowers strewn about on both pieces...

A fine Japanese porcelain small tray-form dish with an upturned vertical rim decorated in the centre with a lake, waterfall and pavilion. The base with a fuki chosun mark. A solitary figure paddles past. Circa 1750 ~ 1780.

Approximately 10.5 cm diameter. Perfect condition.

LARGE Chinese Western Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Hu Jar

This large and imposing jar, of "hu" form, was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It is made from a fairly high-fired grey pottery. It has a particularly wide body with a tall neck that flares out into a wide mouth. Interestingly it has a convex base within which are fabric impressions, the flared foot having then been luted to the body prior to firing...

Antique Japanese bronze suiban with raised designs of dragons on the front and back. Swirling mist motifs decorate the sides of the suiban and continue on the four feet it stands on. A key motif runs along the edge of the rectangular container. Four character mark on the bottom. Suiban are intended for displaying flowers (with a kenzan) or for displaying suiseki scholar stones for viewing and contemplation...

This large and heavy copper alloy axe is from the ancient culture(s) of Northern Iran. The convex cutting edges are perpendicular to each other...

Unusual 19th century Chinese marble brush rest suggesting a dramatic mountain with multiple arches and caves. The piece gives a good feeling of weathered mountain surfaces and quiet energy of the stone. Beautifully carved marble pierced to resemble traditional Taihu limestone, richly textured surface. Natural fissure lines in the stone, no losses or repairs. Excellent functional object for scholar’s table, can be viewed as a scholar’s rock as well. Length 5 1/2 inches.
