A rare and unusual large Anglo-French Chamber Stick rare square Frypan pierced form measuring 2.5” in height by 11” width

Japanese bronze usubata, used for ikebana flower arrangements. With tripod cabriole legs. The interior of the usubata shows verdigris patina from age. The casting is very heavy and shows simple elegance.

Dimensions: 9" w x 4 1/2" h

Diameter approximately 8.9 cm. There is a soft glaze missing on the rim. In good condition.

Kanban or shop sign. The sign indicates that the store would sell or manufacture ornamental pin holders for the oars on a boat (ireko), in the shape of dolls. According to the sketch pasted to the back of the kanban, this holder is mounted on the oar and is placed over a pin mounted on the boat edge. The oar pivots around that pin, so that the oar moves the boat through the water.

The pin holders are decorated as a male and a female doll in court style, their mouths wide open...

Antique Japanese small, round, lidded box. Made with metal body covered with lacquer and decorated with a gold lacquer scene of a bridge and a weeping willow tree. Intricate raised machi-e details of waves and willow leaves. Delicate nashiji on the ground around the tree.

A rare jade archer,s ring, which to me is the actual archers ring used with the bow and arrow rather then the better know thumb ring which is more a piece of jewelry. It was used on the thumb, that's where the "thumb ring" comes from and more than likely on a gloved hand due to the size. See the last three photos of a similar one in a Chinese jade book. Larger than usual bucchero ware kantharos of canonical shape. The high-swung strap handles attached at the rim and the dented ridge at the join to the straight wall. Standing on a low flared foot. Incised lines just below the rim.
Rasmussen’s type 3e kantharos of the standard coastal type known from workshops in the Etruscan cities of Vulci and Cerveteri.

This is beautiful Japanese Ko Imari Porcelain Dish with fine painting of Ho-O bird design with treasure design done in three windows with another window of flower design by gold and Shu (Japanese red) color. The center of dish with Jurojin head in Sometsuke. There is marking of Seika Nensei (Chenghua Year Made) on the back of dish. Back side has Ho-0 bird and Reishi (Chinese mushroom) design...

Antique Japanese beautiful ranma (transom carving) highly carved on both front and back with a scene depicting a pair of foxes in a mountainous setting with bamboo and rocky outcroppings, carved of keyaki (elm) wood and painted in mineral colors, hardware with buddhist details, Edo Period. Size: 13 5/8" high x 75 1/8" long

A real piece of art: Shino-Oribe Tea Bowl from the early Edo Period (around 1620, early 17th century). It is a shoe shaped Kutsugata Chawan covered with a whitish Shino-Oribe glaze over an iron oxide engobe in two quarter sections, where a triangle has been scratched into the dark engobe. The other two opposite quarters show a decoration of two squares in the style of mimasu - three squares.

The roughly cut foot ring and its surrounding show the typical little refined Mino clay...

Ema, a wooden pictorial offering on which writing one's wishes. This one is rare one with miniature iron swords which belong to Fudo Myoo (Cetaka). It has writings, "Fudo Myoo", " Ohshu, Sukagawa Nakamachi". It is the place in Fukushima prefecture in Tohoku district. In good condition. The first half of the 19th century. L:47cm, W:28cm

A Fukagawa porcelain creamer and large sugar. Iris decoration from Chuji Fukagawa's own 19th century design book. Blue underglaze and red, yellow and gold overglaze enamel decoration. Mt. Fuji mark inside the foot ring and Mt. Fuji with Fukagawa Sei in underglaze blue inside the cover of the sugar and creamer. About 4 1/4 inches to the finial of the sugar and about 4 inches to the finial of the creamer. Late Meiji or early Taisho. Good condition...

Antique painting depicted a flock of crane and chrysanthemum. Painted with ink and pigments on silk. Signed Tosa no mori Fujiwara Mitsusada and sealed. Edo period. It is attributed to Tosa Mitsusada.

An Imari barber surgeon’s bleeding bowl of conventional round form decorated with brocade lapets with Peony flowers and Wisteria vine. The centre enamelled with a green an aubergine circle with moths and leaves covering an unglazed stacking ring. The reverse decorated with iron red prunus branches. A pair of holes to the rim to enable suspension. The bowl measures 25,5cm in diameter and stands 7cm high to the rim the footring measures 11cm in diameter...
