Japanese antique set of six paintings by Ariwara Rozan depicting different scenes of birds and flowers including cranes and pine, sparrows and peonies, a goose and yellow roses, herons with a little crab and weeping willows with geraniums, white wisteria and more. An unique antique Japanese tansu of hinoki wood and iron hardware. It has the original patina with 10 drawers and a large top shelf. Dates from the Edo period.

Flint and tinder pouch, in the shape of an envelope made of leather with a heavy steel lower edge, and a loop on top to allow suspension from the belt. Lavish silver and brass decoration with three turquoises in the middle. Tibet, 19th century. Length: 5 3/4" (14,7 cm). Obvious signs of age, wear and use, otherwise very good condition. A rather scarce object nowadays.

Early 19th century boxwood netsuke in a shape of a hexagonal ema plaque with low relief carving of a horse galloping among flowers. In some early Shinto traditions of Japan, horses were seen as carrying messages from the kami (spirits or gods), and were usually used to transmit requests during droughts or famines. Ema (literally “picture-horse’) are small wooden plaques with painted images, they are commonly sold in Shinto shrines, and on which worshippers write prayers or wishes...

Thai bronze head of a Bodhisattva. Ayutthaya period. Presentable decorative condition with tips of earlobes missing, core exposed atop head, and the body missing of course. Black lacquer and traces of gilt on the diadem and the back of the neck. Height of the head , about 3 3/4 inches (9.54 cm) not including the pin for securing on plinth. Pair of early 19th century Japanese sword menuki each depicting a samurai with a weapon in different attitudes: one is wielding a sword, the other a naginata (a machete on a wooden shaft). Wonderful work, bronze with silver inlays and gilding, slight wear, in great condition. Length 1 1/16 inches.

A crackle-green-glazed small porcelain jar from Qing Dynasty. Condition: excellent. The only flaw is a spot on the glaze caused by a burst bubble. Please refer to the photos for condition details. Height: 4-1/2" (11.5cm)

Nogime (hare's fur) Tenmoku tea bowl from the Jian Kilns - made in the Northern Song Period. This is one of the first tea bowls in Japan, which came together with the first tea from China. More than 1000 years old!

Rare Antique Chinese Export red lacquer melon-form tea caddy with six loebed sides, three gilt dragon paw feet, gilt decoration of figures in gardens on body and hinged lid with carved “stem,” opening to a similarly shaped tin liner. Circa 1825. Height, 5.5”; Diameter, 6.25” Gourds and mellons had a particular significance in Chinese culture.
