Placed in the tokonoma of a Japanese Tea House with a single flower it evokes the essence of wab sabi and the soul of the tea ceremony. Lovely art deco bulbous shape with wave diaper on the base. Attractive early brass travellers icon, probably made before the Ban on bronze travellers icon making by Peter the Great in 1722. This icon dates to c. 17th.-18th. century.

A deeply carved wooden lintel, dating to circa the mid-19th century, possibly earlier. The carving is detailed and in excellent condition. Chief among the figures is "Kamadhenu," a winged female deity with the body of a cow and the head of a human. The piece measures 30" in length (80cm) and is 9" in height (22cm).

A Japanese Arita lobed dish decorated with a dragon descending from clouds, grasping the pearl of wisdom. The back with a fuku mark. The dish dates from 1750~1790. A similar design to Chinese examples of the Yongzheng period.
Approximately 14 cm diameter. Perfect condition.

This censer is noticeable by its absolutely very well done, perfect shape of the body. By the particularly warm golden colour of the alloy, and by the additional decor ( with some calligraphy ) to the inside of the piece. The surface of the piece nearly appears like gilded. Unforunately why ever the images are not able to show this.
Ming Xuande mark to the base of the piece.

A Chinese, Henan, Cizhou-type black glazed bowl; C13-14th.
The deep, rounded sides rising to a slightly everted rim, the interior covered in a black glaze decorated with two rows of closely spaced vertical russet stripes, while the slightly mottled black glaze on the exterior falls in an irregular line above the foot to expose the fine buff ware.

A Canton enamel squash blossom jewel or trinket box from the 1880s 1890s. This lovely and large Chinese enamel on metal box measures 4-1/2 x 3-1/2" and it stands 2-3/4" high on its foot rim. It is nicely worked with a fine life-like appearance and the hand applied enamel is in yellow, green and blue. The interior is light blue as is the underside...
"Khatvanga", a ritual object used during Tantric ceremonies, decorated with a crowned Citipati on its top, and incised geometric designs. Iron, with four inlaid bronze rings along the shaft. Tibet, early 20th century. Height: 23 cm. Strong oxydation, otherwise very good condition.
A Gorham Copper and Silver Champagne Ice Bucket made for the "Commonwealth", the last of the luxurious ships from the New England Steamship Company Fall River Line circa 1908. Measures about 8 3/8" tall and weighs over 3 1/4 pounds. Made of copper with bronze or brass handles and silver "C" initial. Marked on bottom as shown. Shows wear and bends from many years of use, nice patina. Very rare memorabilia.
This is a 19th century Japanese imitation of a Chinese cloisonne bowl. It has a white background and fish, horse and floral design on both the exterior and interior. There is a square brass seal reading ¡°imitate Ming¡± on the bottom. In this case, ¡°Ming¡± is a general name for Chinese or Mandarin. It is 10 inches in diameter and 4 ¾ inches tall. Good condition.
