Fine Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Camel with Oxford TL Test

This fine pottery model of a camel, laden with saddle bags, was made during the early Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906) or possibly a little earlier. It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in a white pigment. The camel stands upright and alert with its mouth open and its head turned to its left. On its back is a set of saddle bags that include a blanket, ducks and what appears to be a rabbit...

This is a very small antique German chocolate mold. Father Christmas stands just 4 inches high and is 2 1/4 inches wide. The clips are original. Very nice detail. The manufacturer and the number 990 are stamped on the inside.

Unusual 19th century kagamibuta (“mirror lid”) netsuke with copper bowl and mixed metal top depicting a tiger on rocks with bamboo grass and a dragon holding a Precious Gem in flight among swirling clouds: the two appear ready to engage in a fight. Very nice pairing of the most powerful Zodiac animals, bronze disc with gilding, eyes of both beasts are inlaid with shakudo with its characteristic strong black color...

This is a superbly well carved jade piece dating, I believe, most probably to the Song dynasty, circa 1100AD, although possibly a tad later. The jade is a grayish-green nephrite and is truly the work of a highly accomplished artist. It measures some 3" in length and is 2" in height (7.5cm X 5cm). 1/4" in depth (1mm). A real beauty! 19th century small Chinese porcelain water dish in fan shape with vertical sides for use in a cricket cage. The inside is painted in underglaze blue with a fish among seaweed. Wonderful quality uninhibited painting, beautiful glaze with tiny bubbles, paste with typical blemishes. Very quiet subtle piece for scholar’s studio. Length 1 9/16 inches.

A lovely Jiaqing period floral dish, decorated with good-quality bright enamels. Possibly a birthday dish, as there is a bat (good fortune) and peach (longevity) in the dish center.

Condition: good antique condition, with two rim chips and some fleabites to the foot rim.

Miniature statue of Buddha Gautama, in formal attire, wearing diadem, a lotus flower beside each shoulder, his hands in "dharmacakra mudra", sitting cross-legged on a lotus throne. Bronze, with fine reddish-green patina. Tibet, 17th century, maybe earlier. Height: 4.9 cm. Erosion due to great age, otherwise very good condition...

Found in the Philippines. Featuring a globular body, tapering to its shoulders to a flared mouth with a short curved spout, opposite its curved handle and is covered overall in a pale green celadon glaze. Its base is fully glazed, except for the foot-ring. A similar example can be seen in the book ”Chinese and Southeast Asian Greenware Found in the Philippines” by: The Oriental Ceramic Society of the Philippines, on page 56; exhibit 2.42(left)...

This is a rare, seldom seen, Snuff Bottle made from Coconut Shell, of a rectangular form, tapering towards base, with a raised rectangular footing, and a short rounded neck. It has been decorated with an incised landscape in the front, and an inscription, possibly a poem, in the back. It has a deep chocolate color with specks. It is very light in weight...
