Japanese mingei water wheel of hinoki wood. Constructed with iron nails, joinery, complete with 17 spokes and paddles with kanji characters. The central hub has an iron piston protruding for rotational function. The wheel comes with a contemporary custom steel mount which allows it to spin smoothly and silently.

This is a wonderful Qing Dynasty child's hat from Shui minority group in the Rong Jiang area. It is traditional looking Chinese cap style made with silk fabric and silk split thread embroidery, and top knot. This hat is over 100 years old, and has wonderfully soft patina, and shows some wear. Truely charming

A rare example of Yuan dynasty 13th-14th century Meiping blue and white vase, decorated with freely drawn of main decoration Dragon chasing flaming pearl, flanked by Chrysanthemum and classic scroll, the lower part with lotus panels. Foot rim unglazed and very dried. I believed it is after excavated from the deep sea of East Java Tuban port. Condition with one tiny chip and a large chip to the mouth rim, the cobalt blue slight grayish and pale, further in good condition. Height: 22 cm.

This is a well-hollowed, Flattened, Spade/Vase form translucent Sage-Green Jade Snuff Bottle with a straight round neck, flat lip, wide mouth, and an oval flat footing. It is simply decorated on one side with a incised engraving, gilt-painted, stylized rendering of a Peony flower plant. The neck is likewise decorated with a geometric patterned ribbon. Very little size, probably this divinity was make for travellers. Budai was the god of good fortune,abundance of good health. and perhaps a dealer travelling keep him with him. Good condition, no restoration. Normal wear for centuries-old porcelain. China later 18th century earlier 19th. Hight: 4,8cm.

A Tang dynasty yue two lugs jar, rounded side with globular body and flat unglazed base, jar decorated with two lugs and covered with creamy green celadon glaze. Jar is in good condition, no chip, no crack, no restoration. Size: 17,5 cm height.

Japanese nobori banner, hand painted (dyed) with samurai Yoshinaka (Kiso no) and Tomoe Gozen, a woman warrior. Dimensions: 15 3/4" wide and 147 1/2" long. Hand woven soft cotton with hand spun yarn. Early 1900s. Excellent condition but please expect some minor stains because of the age. It may hang better without the side handles on the wall.

Yoshinaka is a member of the Minamoto family (Genji) from the late Heian period (794-1185)...

An exquisite pair of 19th century Sometsuke porcelain bottles decorated with butterflies among seasonal flowers. The winged creatures float effortlessly among the bamboo, Chinese bell flower, wild chrysanthemum and other seasonal flora. Each bottle is peaked by a simple rounded wooden bung, and they come enclosed in an age darkened wooden carrying box with hand forged iron handle. They are roughly 15 cm (6 inches) tall each and in excellent condition...

A Nihon Matsu tansu with hinoki (cypress) wood drawers. The round lock plates on each drawer feature a bird and bamboo leaf motif. There are 4 large drawers with spacious interiors and on the right lower side is a safe box door with key with two interior drawers.

Old buddhist altar representing Buddha and two bodhisattvas, each one standing on a lotus and backed by a mandorla, the whole group surmounted by the Buddhist Flaming Pearl and resting on a double lotus. Apocryphal reign mark beneath (Emperor Qian Long). Bronze with fine age patina. China, late 19th century. Height: 17 cm. Very good condition.
