A Very Rare/Fine Carved/Pigments Painted Wood Carved Tiger:
Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century
A solid wood deep carved a man riding a tiger painted in red, yellow, blue, white and black pigments on the surfaces,
a man wearing a traditional hat, black horse tailed “Gat”, and a tiger with a long tail.
It’s in very fine condition without any noticeable damages, or missing apart.

Turn-of-the-century Art Nouveau sterling silver loving cup. Made by Frank W. Smith in Gardner, Mass. Curved body with 3 high-looping handles and domed foot. Flower heads clustered at rim under handles. Foot same with openwork. Fresh and voluptuous with plenty of room for engraving. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. 1884. Very good condition.

or museums, and rarely come up for sale...

A superb very sharp Oil lamp, Roman, late 1st. century AD.
Roman figural terracotta oil lamp with single handle. The discus is framed by two concentric rings, in the middle is a high profile head of a woman or godess. Maker's mark on the bottom: MNOVIVSI. He was a lamp maker, known as M. Novius Justus, with a workshop situated in North Africa and produced oil lamps from 120 – 180 AD.

The three-drawer superstructure has a fold flap above two short and two long drawers on a molded plinth and small compressed bun feet. One of the great rarities of Thai incised lacquer is this wonderfully detailed condiment box in various colors of burgundy, orange red, yellow, green, and light red lacquer. It is said that the more colors and details found in Thai lacquer, the more expensive it was to produce. This small (4 inches) box displays well and features a Temple dog on the lid, and a peacock on the bottom, very unusual indeed...

Vase in fine Satsuma earthenware enamelled in Osaka in Yabu Meizan's workshop at the end of the 19th century around 1890. The decoration is compartmentalized in 4 cartouches and represents the 4 seasons. The landscapes are meticulously painted, the details are surprisingly elegant and realistic. For winter, a snow-covered port is represented, the trees are heavy with snow, everything is motionless, padded. The cartouches are surrounded by a beautifully painted thousand-flower background...
