19th century Japanese raku ceramic box for use in tea ceremony potted and painted to represent yuzu citron with leaves. Could serve as chaire (tea caddy for powdered tea) or kogo (box for incense). Wonderful hand potting, excellent depiction of fruit skin texture. Stamped with RAKU character on the body by the foot. Comes with newer kiriwood box and wrapping cloth. Rare Antique Japanese Kashiki Bowl for used ceremony of Meiji Period made by Rokubei Kiyomizu IV (1848-1920). The seal of the potter is stamped on the bottom. Rokubei Kiyomizu IV belongs to one of the most influential Kiyomizu family of potters. He was born in 1848 as the eldest son of Rokubei Kiyomizu III. The sword's hilt has a finely hand-carved hardwood grip, with beautiful natural grains, and a small pistol-shaped pommel. This is a greenish glazed bowl dated to the Northern Song Dynasty. It stands on a short foot rim with a recess base. On the cavetto, it is divided into four sections of incised abstract cloud like drawings. It has a shade of greenish-grey glaze.

The bowl is in very good conditions with the glaze intact. There is a small chip as shown in picture 3. It has an overglaze on it. Other than that, in the center of the bowl it has a samll sand grits and bits from the incised motives...

Large Ming jar with blue underglaze chrysanthemum pattern in perfect condition. This was fired in Guangdong Province and locally, this type is referred to as a “gunpowder” jar although, I don’t know if this was it what it was really used for. Included is a decent wood lid.
