Ming Dynasty, ca. 1500s

Cast with flowing robe and benevolent facial expression. Stands upon a base cast in the form of sea waves surrounded by low a fence raised upon a hexagonal plinth. Figure and base were cast separately with the figure being attached to the base with two bronze pins. The figure was originally lacquered overall then gilded. Remains of this gilt lacquer can be seen especially in the creases of the robe and the hair around the edges of the hood...

A Chinese Bronze Censer, Qing Dynasty. Diameter approximately 14.6 cm (across handles), height approximately 10.6 cm, the weight of the censer 1100 gram and 520 gram for the stand. The censer has been polished and has few of scratches at the body. Normal age wear. Good condition.

Three piece bedroom set consisting of half tester bed, marble top dresser with mirror, and marble top wash stand with mirror. This burled walnut set is signed with NO under the marble, indicating that is was made in New Orleans. The bed has been professionally altered to take a queen size mattress. The set is in beautiful condition, and its really hard to find a bedroom set with three original pieces...

Antique Japanese hardwood cabinet with beautiful inlaid decoration of birds and nature scenes. Flying birds, birds in branches and at rest are depicted with great naturalism: morning doves with peonies, cranes flying through golden clouds, and egrets walking through water lilies. Inlaid materials include bone, mother of pearl, horn, and gilt lacquer. Panels have reticulated chrysanthemums and scrolling vines. Meiji period, late 19th early 20th century made for export...

Xuande mark, but ca. 1600s

This incense-burner was originally lacquered a reddish brown tone with traces remaining, and has small areas of verdigris on the base and handles. The interior has some verdigris and encrusted ash. The base is cast in the center with an archaistic style six-character Xuande mark. The overall surface is darkened and has worn unevenly from age and use. A design of two opposing phoenix birds wraps around the body in shallow incising work. Overall good condition...

Beautiful antique Japanese fune tansu (merchant's ship safe), made of keyaki wood with heavy iron hardware, top has drawer with elaborate lock, bottom has removable panel with three locks, interior has two small locking drawers and another drop in door which reveals a separate locking money box, interior components are made of kiri, iron bracing on top and sides, bottom has wooden bracing, Edo Period ( 2 keys). Size: 19 1/4" high x 21 1/2" wide x 18" deep

Beautifully carved throne chair with a gorgeous deep reddish lacquer, with carvings of dragons and billowing winds into its back, dragon heads serving as the arms and front legs with painted glass eyes. The back of the chair features a large spiral leaf, smoke-like carvings along the top and sides, and a small lower panel with fleur de lys carving and a cloud border. Meiji period (1867-1912) Size: 52.5" height, 30" length

Japanese antique large 3 piece cha display tansu, ornately carved all over with birds and flowers and with deep blue lacquer panels decorated with bone inlaid scenes of a maiden with two children as well as more birds and flowers on other panels. The upper portion of the tansu has two cabinet doors on either side of a compartment with two sliding panels.
