Antique hand knotted Persian wool rug made in the yomud style. It has deep burgundy colors with blue, white, orange and red accents in the pattern. One corner has a braided slipped knot made of the fringe. Late 19th early 20th (Circa 1900). It measures 12'6" by 7'2".

A beautiful Persian tribal small chanteh (bag) for personal use. Hand woven of wool for incredible durability. This bag has a very tight intricate knotting with a central design of diagonal bands of blue, white and rust colors. Inside each band is a diagonal row of what appear closest to a simple wheel of fortune motif except that each symbol only has two hooked arms and is spinning in the opposite direction of a wheel of fortune motif...

19th century Chinese small carved boxwood architectural panel depicting a Chinese scholar with 3 attendants among pavilions and trees. Must have been part of an altar piece. Wonderful quality carving with piercing and deep undercutting, rich detailing (see several Fungus of Immortality), very pleasant wear and patina. Size 2 3/8 x 4 7/8 x 9/16 inches. This demitasse cup, saucer and dessert plate was produced in France by Haviland Limoges before 1900. The plate has a diameter of 7 1/2 inches, the saucer is 4 5/8 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 inches high. The plate and saucer are scalloped with a ripple molded into the border. The cup has a shape like a clover. The three pieces are decorated with a floral transfer that trails across each piece in art nouveau style. The rims are trimmed with a double gold band...

"Silver" hallmarks on the bottom of the saucers. Cups have gold-plating interiors. Probably Meiji Period. Size: Saucer: 8.5 cm diam. Cup: 5.2 cm diam. Condition: Very good. Some oxidized wear.

Chawan, or tea bowl, for use in the the tea ceremony. Fine gray stoneware turned out rather thin of almost round shape, with a ‘soul’ in the bottom, standing on a bamboo shaped foot, a swirl inside the foot. Opaque yellow glaze with fine crackle covers the ceramic. Over the yellow a white slip hakeme brush stroke on the outside and on the inside.

Japanese Seto Earthenware Tea Chaire, Tea Caddy with original Ivory Cap and Gold Foil inside, Ca. Edo Period, 1603-1868, 2 1/4" high include Ivory Cap 7/8" diameter-top rim, 1 1/4" Diameter-bottom rim, this beautiful old dark Brown glazed Tea Chaire or Tea Caddy kept original Ivory Cap, which is stained with dark brown tea between porous grains, some rough spot inside the top rim.

Set of three large identical keman, made of gilt bronze. Decorative hangings from a Buddhist temple.

Each keman is fan-shaped (or perhaps boar's eye-shaped) with a design of two pairs of double chrysanthemum family crests set between karakusa (winding weeds) in openwork. The knotted cord in the center is executed in gilt bronze repoussé (hollow underneath). The openwork design is very carefully executed, with engraved details and nanako ground...

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in France by a Paris decorator in the mid-19th century. The type of porcelain and style of decoration are indicative of Paris Porcelain. The saucer has a diameter of 5 5/8 inches and the cup is 3 3/8 inches high. The cup and saucer are molded into panels, giving the saucer ribs and the cup its shape. These panels divide the decoration into scenic segments and ornamental segments...

Large Japanese Kutani serving bowl featuring 2 separate scenes. In very good antique condition, there is some minor fritting around the outer edge of the rim. This rare Japanese bowl measures 10 inches in diameter and about 3.25" high. Dates late Edo, Circa 1800.

19th century Japanese bronze tea ceremony hibashi (long metal chopsticks for handling charcoal in hibachi brazier) with finials in a form of heads of the Fungus of Immortality. These hibashi are for use in the summer time (winter ones have top half covered in wood). Finely made of bronze with high copper contents, beautiful casting and chiseling of the fungus, embossed areas at the working end for better handling of charcoals. Superb patina, beautiful wear, pleasantly heavy. Length 11 inches.
