A nice tanged bronze lance from Ancient Near East, East Caspian Sea Area, 2nd. mill BC.

The lance with rouned shoulders and a defined, central midrib, interesting thick tang.

Condition: Nice Very fine, wear, but nice metal. Beautiful red patination.

This is an authentic Neolithic Hongshan jade object, described in the literature as "hoof-shaped." Current scholarly opinion is that it was used to hold the individual's hair, based on where these objects have been found in excavated tombs. The piece measures 4-1/2" in height and is 2" in diameter. As with most published examples, it has two holes near the base which would have allowed the insertion of a "pin" to hold the hair in place...

An interesting example of a hand painted Egyptian carved kneeling boatman from a funerary boat model, wearing a black cropped wig, red painted kilt, black facial features and a white painted body.

It would be hard to overstate the beauty of this ritual knife, made from an exquisite mottled green nephrite, with swirls of paler green and brown stone. Measuring some 11" in length (29cm) by 3" in height (7.5cm) and 1/8" (.3mm) in depth. The three holes are drilled conically from one side only. A beautiful and rare Etruscan Plaster Figure 12” x 5” QUILLEN ESTATE

This is an intact and very fine example of this ware which, to me, seems to incorporate a human torso, standing with arms and legs akimbo. The colors are quite vivid, with an aubergine purple in addition to the black outlining. The piece is well and thinly potted, standing some 7" in height.It swells out to some 7" in diameter, measured across the area of the two rings ("lugs").
