This beautiful mottled gray/green color stone There is a carved with dragon which is deeply undercut so that he is suspended across the top of the stone. The ink reservoir has a matching stone cover. The ink stone is carved from a thick slab of stone, 10 inches across the back, 6+ inches back to front, and over one inch thick. It is heavy. It has been held in a private collection for about 20 years....conservatively dates from early 1800's...

A large 127 x 62.5 cm silk panel created from fabric originally intended for a chaofu court robe. The five-clawed dragons were created entirely from silk threads covered with gold foil, which couldn't be sewn through the fabric, so they were instead tacked down via a technique called 'couching'...

This flint glass pitcher was produced in the United Stated at the Boston Sandwich glass factory in the late 19th century. It measures 5 1/2 inches high. A Very Interesting Sugar Caster from the workshops of the Duchess of Sutherland's Cripples Guild of Handicrafts circa 1910. This is made of hand wrought copper that has been gold plated, based on an 18th century English example in the Duchess's collection. Measures about 10 3/4" tall. Rare example.

This old Chinese Ethnic Minority inro is carved from animal horn and has 2 compartments. Each side is carved with a floral motif that is bordered with a key design. Japanese antique small tansu chest for personal use. Made all of kiri (paulownia) wood. This tansu has 3 large drawers of different sizes and 2 small drawers in the lower right hand corner. Iron hardware includes pierced corner bracing, round lock plate and drawer pulls.

Very nice song dynasty longquan celadon small dish with twin fish motive covered with nice bluish green glazed.13,3 cm diameter. 3,5 cm high. Dish has single hairline, no chipped, free from any restorations.

18th century or earlier Indian bronze votive sculpture of standingmale figure with a dagger and a a lingam in his hands. I believe the image to be a rare 2-armed form of Govinda Bhairava, who is a syncretic form of Vishnu and Shiva. A masterful rendering of an unusually large rooster posturing in full stance. The metals used are copper, silver, and gold. The major body of the cockerel is called shibuichi which is meticulously composed of silver and copper mixture. The feathers are beautifully sculpted and chased in details. The movement of the feathers pronounce the figurative composition. Its tail feather is patinated and infused into the silver.

A Chinese porcelain water pipe made for the Imperial Palace in Hue. Decoration of dragons in cobalt blue underglaze. Below 4 characters in blue and, which is unusual, 4 other characters incised under glassure, perhaps the mark of the potter or the commander. This is beni-itajime silk hagoromo jyuban kimono textile of the Meiji era. It is special jyuban made with technique of beni-itajime from the Edo era through the Meiji era. Cotton cloth with tsutsugaki flower motifs which is hand-spun and vegetable indigo dye.
