A large sized hanging scroll of a landscape in the literati style by Okuhara Seikou (1837-1913). Seikou was one of the few female artists who specialized in the literati tradition (known as Bunjinga or sometimes associated with Nanga). An inscription can be found on the top left of the painting where a short Chinese poem is describing how the guests are approaching through the mists found among the hills of the landscape...

This incense burner is cast bronze in a bombe form, having a brownish patina with small patches of verdigris. The base is caste with a six-character Xuande mark (though not of the period). The interior shows evidence of long use and has some areas of verdigris. It is set on a flaring footring which echoes its rather thick flaring lip. There is evidence of wear and use and some tiny nicks to one handle. It is in generally good condition. Purchased in London in 1978...

Antique Japanese pair of hanging lotus candle holders, each made of bronze and attached in two sections. The upper section is a large inverted lotus leaf with smaller leaves and lotus buds around it's base. From out of the large lotus leaf is a hook. The lower section attaches to the hook with a ring. The candle itself would sit on the small lotus flower platform with smaller leaves and flowers.

An old well carved white jade lion dog , a small piece , in good condition , probably Qing era

This is a very nice solid figure blowing into a conch shell. It is attributed to the Protoclassic Nayarit culture of West Mexico, C100BC-250AD. It has the original pigments that are much brighter than the photos show. It is a beautiful patinized orange and black. There is a chip off the right rear foot. 18th Century bronze Vishnu Figure, Seated on a stylized lotus Throne. The divinity seated in royal ease, his right hand holding a stick, symbol of his power. Wearing a tiered conical hair dress, short vertically striated sampot with overlap, jeweled collar, armlets, anklets and pendeloque earrings. His throne decorated with lotus buds and flower and the figure is seated beneath a nicely decorated arch. This piece dates back to the 18th Century, About 250-300 years...

Chinese altar fruit offering in Blanc de Chine. The peach has a tendril like stem and three leaves. The base is left unglazed with a single ventilation hole to prevent it from exploding or cracking during firing.

A Chinese Bronze Censer, Qing Dynasty. Diameter approximately 14.6 cm (across handles), height approximately 10.6 cm, the weight of the censer 1100 gram and 520 gram for the stand. The censer has been polished and has few of scratches at the body. Normal age wear. Good condition.

A kozuka is a handle of a by-knife that is part of a sword mounting. It is kept in a slot on the reverse of a katana scabbard, often with a matching kōgai (hairdressing tool). Kozuka was used as a craft knife rather than a weapon. This kozuka shows two topless figures and a octopus. It made of bronze and copper-gold alloy (shakudo). Size: 3.75 inches (9.5cm)

This plain pot metal vessel was used to contain hair oil during the reign of Chinese Emperor Daoquang about 1850. Standing about 6 inches high and 3.5 inches diameter at the widest point, a woman would dip her comb into the oil before combing her hair. I do have an identical matched pair of these but am selling them separately.

A beautifully carved and gilt boxwood figure of Guan Yin / Guanyin. The goddess is holding the holy Buddhist scripture and has placed her hand between the open pages. China, Republic period, c 1920. The surface of the carving is covered with a thin layer of red that mixes with the gilt. The figure can be fixed to an oval wooden stand. Height (the stand not included) "4 ¾ / 12.3 cm.
