A delicate and finely hand painted Chinese export Famille Rose porcelain tea bowl of ogee shape. Qianlong period (ca. 1780). Top rim decor is blue under glaze with a tiny colored flower in the center of the tea bowl and the outside has famille rose enamels depicting a fawn/deer and delicate pastel flowers with branches. Sterling silver sugar spoon in Whiting's 1891 "Louis XV" pattern. The spade-shaped bowl is slightly scalloped at the neck for decorative appeal. The back is stamped with Whiting's hallmark, the patent date (indicating an older piece) and the retailer's mark "A. Stowell & Co." (Baltimore).

This porcelain oyster plate was produced in France by Theodore Haviland Limoges around 1895. It has a diameter of 8 1/2 inches. The plate has 5 clam shells and a center compartment for salt. The plate is decorated with a factory transfer design with tiny sea creatures and seaweed. These designs are colored by hand. There is brushed on gilded accents around the shells and on the border. Rare Large Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Glazed Buddhist Zodiac Jar

This very rare pottery jar was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279), or possibly the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) and has been been excavated from a Buddhist site in Yunnan province.

It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been coated in a green glaze that is very thin in places.

Around the waist of the jar have been applied twelve mouldings, the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac...

Extremely rare: Korean Amamori Chawan of Choson (Yi) Dynasty (1392-1910). Wan shaped tea bowl, thrown from light, refined clay, with very little iron oxide, covered with a white feldspatic glaze with fine crackles and pin holes including the small foot.

Through many years of use the tea has seeped through the holes and crack to discolour the white clay body underneath, creating an effect called amamory - rain leak. The effect is especially strong along the rim...

Condition report: Basically perfect condition. There is a Chinese character for “two” etched to the front surface, and there are some age scratches to glaze.
