A Japanese porcelain wine ewer or Chosi of cylindrical form decorated in underglaze blue with alternating horizontal bands of flowers (auspicious gobenka)and pinnate leaves (resembling Asters). The design perhaps influenced by the Chinese Aster pattern of the Kangxi period and the later, Mid Qing, provincial Chrysanthemum pattern (see the Desaru Wreck). Cheerful Chinese large bamboo brush pot featuring several scenes which consist of a boy and girl feeding five little biddies (chicks), a man dancing, a dog barking, and 4 boys playing hide and seek. All in a garden setting with a fence and mountainous rocks. In very good condition, there is some old insect damage to the base bottom rim. See last photo. Measures 6.75 inches high, 5" diameter. Dates circa 1920's.

Attributed to South Staffordshire, England, Possibly Bilston, late 18th century. The “gingham finish” was principally produced in this area. By placing a piece of cambric over solid ground color and then applying white enamel this finish was achieved. The three dimensional decoration was also found in the area. It was normally created by applying several layers of enamel. In addition, the unusual heart shape has been found in other Bilston boxes...

Chinese antique sewing table, black lacquer with beautiful and ornate gold lacquer designs depicting scenes of palace life, interior has many little places for organizing sewing materials all lacquered in black and gold with bone details, a pull out lacquer and silk area underneath for storing embroidery supplies, claw feet, with key, 18th/19th century. Size: 28" high x 24 1/2" wide x 17" deep.

This late 19th century Chinese jade (nephrite) carving of a reclining camel and foreign grooms is 2 ¾” high, 4 ¼” long and 2” thick. It depicts a reclining camel turning its head to the three grooms; one is climbing on the camel’s hump while the other two are leaning on its side. It is in great condition.

Antique Chinese figure of the goddess Quanyin seated with a child on her lap. Made of bronze and lacquered in red then black lacquer, this statue was once completely covered in gold. The goddess of compassion sits with one hand delicately balanced on her knee. The other hand holds the hand of the tiny girl-child in her lap. Both goddess and child are sculpted with beautiful expressions and naturalistic details. Qing Dynasty. Size: 24" high x 17" wide x 14" deep.

A splendid large steatite scarab from the New Kingdom, 16th. century BC- 11th. century BC.

The scarab is carved with a vase (?) flanked by a pair of hieroglyphs for the Cobra / Uraeus and further down the scarab beetle finely outlined in between hieroglyphs. The scarab is also finely carved on the back and with tiny details of body, head and legs. Note also the cylindrical finials for the horisontical drill.

Sculpture of a long-nosed tanuki, walking with a hat on its back and a flask in its left paw. The piece is built around a large piece of root wood that comprises the torso, legs, the enlarged scrotum and tail. The head is a separate piece of root wood, the ears inserted. The sake flask is a small piece of root wood, and the hat is carved from a slab of a different wood species...

Lovely petite hand painted curio cabinet with glass door with bronze trim and "J" shaped side glass, also with bronze mounts. It measures 54" tall x 26" wide x 15" deep. It is beautifully hand painted with a musical and flower motif.

This is Japanese Indigo dye shibori Baby boro kimono meiji(1868-1912). Baby's indigo dye shibori kimono is rare. Textile seems to be hand spun and woven. It is thick indigo dye cotton. There are a stain and little damage. It is warm very cotton of touch. The lining is also very charming. size:62cm x 65cm (24.4" x 25.6")

A beautiful, hand-painted creamer and sugar set in ornate Wilcox quadruple-plated silver holders. Both pieces of glass are decorated with flowers, butterflies, etc. The metallic holders have superb wrap-around decor. The creamer is 5 1/4 inches wide and 4 3/8 inches high, while the sugar container is 4 1/2 inches wide and 4 1/4 inches high. Three gods of fire which are unglazed earthenware made of clay. Fire has been thought as sacred and gods of fire have been put near furnaces, cooking stoves (kamado) and open fireplace (irori) for protecting from disasters and uncleanness. Very Finely Embroidered Deluxe Pair of Korean Pillow Ends with Two Cranes (symbol of a long and happy life together) and Peonies (symbol of love and prosperity). A very special pair. Mounted and framed, but the frame is in disrepair and should be replaced. 5.5 x 4.25 inches, 14 x 11 cm each.

Chinese porcelain planter in a squared form tapering slightly towards the base, incised with imagery of birds perching, grapes and coiling vines, blooming flowers against a yellow enamel ground. The upper and lower part of the planter with bands of archaic scrolls in cobalt blue. The rim has red floral scrolling motifs. The base is marked "China" in red. With dense carved wooden stand of an inverted lotus form.

This type of bronze weapon is generally designated as a short sword. It has a substantial midrib with tapering edges. The edges are concave in the upper part and gracefully draw into spikes or wings that extend around either side of the tang. Weapons of this type are found in Northwestern Iran and most likely date to around the 9th century BC...

This is a small and beautiful qingpai ewer of very mild greenish hue. It stands on a short recessed base and then everted upward to a bulbous body, with a sligltly sloping shoulder and the a short slanted neck towards a bowl like mouth rim. Under the sunlight, the ewer has a mild greenish appeareance. Under normal sun light, the ewer has a mild greenish hue but under normal room light, it appears to have a greyish hue. Early 19th century wooden netsuke of a lotus pod with 2 seeds that can move inside their sockets. Great early carving, dark dense fruitwood, himotoshi (cord opening) formed by the stem of the pod. Beautiful mellow patina from handling, in great condition. Pod diameter 1.66 inches.

These late 19th century Chinese Famille Verte ceramic bowls are 1 7/8” high and 5” in diameter. There are two green dragons chasing flame surrounded red globes on the outside the bowls. Inside the bowls, there is one globe with flames. There is an orange peach and lucky bat mark on the bottom of each bowl. Aside from some small hair line cracks due to their age and three tiny chips on one bowl due to the firing, they are in very good condition.

This hemp Kyogen costumes hakama was used by Kyogen actors in the Edo period(1800-1867). The light green color is dyed by mixing natural bark and indigo dye.It's a very natural and beautiful color. This hemp is hand spun. Round flowers and maple patterns are impressive. This one has some wear and tear due to age. There are several small holes here. Recommended for antique textile collections. Small bronze Indian votive sculpture of the elephant headed Hindu god Ganesha, known as the Remover of Obstacles, beautifully intact with all four arms holding attributes including his goad or ax and sweets of which he is sampling with his trunk, wonderful detail and form with elongated head, covered with vermilion remnants, 19th century. An exceptionally well decorated and finely potted bowl made to the best Imperial standards. The base carries the six character reign mark of the Chenghua Emperor enclosed within a double circle. This item was made later - during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor - probably in imitation of or as a replacement for a 15th Century Ming original. There are eight chips to the rim. There is a 2.5cm light hairline running from the rim. 17cm (6.7 inches) Diameter 7.5cm (3 inches) High.
