This is an old Chinese inkstone has hand carved ox with head turned toward the natural "dragon's eye" moon. There are some chips along the edges of the ink stone and areas of natural inclusions. It is a very fine grain quality stone, dating to the early 1800's and measures 6 x 4.5 inches, and a bit over .5 inches thick.

This rare carved walrus tusk of a pine tree boat is a late 19th century product. It depicts 13 young female fairies riding on a pine tree covered boat crossing the ocean. This particular example features a large open golden orange field, which varies wonderfully in intensity of color throughout the pile. It's sparsely but elegantly decorated in restrained Chinese taste, using only leafy vines set against the open field, and bordered with a rich and still quite vibrant inky blue / navy blue outer border...

Antique Japanese bronze figure of Quanyin from the Meiji period, late 19th century. The figure is holding a scroll and wearing draped robes decorated with necklaces and flowers. Quanyin is the buddhist goddess of compassion. It measures 12" tall, 4" wide at base.

Chinese Silver chain or bracelet with Bell, Turquoise and Nephrite Jade Ring, 11" long-maximum length, Bell-7/8" wide, 1" high, the Jade is 7/8" diameter-outside measurement, 7/8" long x 5/8" wide for Turquoise drop tear shape, 3/4" x 5/8" wide for Peach. Beautiful and rare famille rose porcelain dish with very well painted figural and landscaping decoration. Qianlong six characters reign mark and of the period. Condition: Excellent, there are small chips on the foot rim, it looks like that these chips were already there before the enamel applied. Please refer to the enlargements to confirm this. Japanese shigaraki jar, Edo period 17th-18th century, thickly potted, the skin showing the characteristic pock marks and imbedded fieldspar with a natural ash glaze. This jar was originally used to store tea but became desired as an object of mingei beauty due to the tea ceremony aesthetics. It measures 4.5" wide at mouth 21' tall.

Chinese yellow Crackle ware Pottery Brush Washer and brush Holder, Ca. pre 1920, 1 5/8" high-maximum measurement, 2 3/4" wide,1 3/4" deep-maximum measurement, with crackled yellowish beige color glaze, a high relief frog beside rock garden on the top next to a round hole 3/8" diameter to hold a single brush. This crackle ware Brush Washer has glaze crack and few glaze flake frits on the glaze.

Chinese Conch Shell shape Sancai Monochrome three colored Ceramic Brush Washer with a green Frog resting on top of the Conch Shell and drinking and swallowing brush washer water out of conch shell dish, Ca. 19th century, late 1800's, 2 3/4" high-maximum measurement, 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" wide. The opening of the shell is 2 3/4" x 1 3/4" wide. The Sancai glaze is beautifully spread out with few firing glaze cracks about 1/2" to 1/4" long...

A spectacular and beautiful circa 1730 English silk embroidered apron front, exquisitely embroidered in polychrome silk and metallic threads with garlands and sprays of flowers urns. Scalloped edges are finished with embroidered metallic trim. A somewhat later but very similar example is shown in The Lotus Collection.

There are some scattered unimportant splits and very very minor and small spots of discoloration, all to be expected in such a delicate piece...

Japanese Mino yaki sake bottle 1600s

This high-fired bottle was produced at the Mino Kilns in Gifu Prefecture in pale-gray stoneware. The bottle is covered overall in a transparent glaze with a greenish tint. The lower portion of the body is left unglazed as is also the flat foot. It is well-potted, having three indentations on the sides, creating a comfortable fit for the hand while pouring...

This shallow, square tray-shaped dish is covered in black lacquer and inlaid with delicate abalone mother of pearl work, with touches of red, brown and gold lacquer. A central landscape scene of rocks, plants and butterflies is set in a black cartouche thinly framed with mother of pearl. The rest of the background and interior sides are sprinkled with fine abalone shell dust which gives this dish a blue-green sparkle...

A very unique architectural element showing a warrior on a mythical beast. These were used as adornments to beautify the home as well as to tell a story. This well carved piece of Chinese history dates to the late 19th century and is considered in excellent unrestored condition. The painting of various colors adds luster to this hard to find antique. There is damage to the backside, but does not detract from the overall beauty. It measures 10.5" long, 8" high. just under 4" inches deep.

The painting is attributed to Iwasa Matabei (1578–1650), a renowned Japanese painter who is often considered originating ukiyo-e genre painting.
