This porcelain butterfly was produced in Thuringia, Germany by the Schwarza-Saalbahn factory around 1900. Similar porcelain objects have been produced by Karl Ens of Volkstedt. The butterfly is 6 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches high. It is made of hard paste porcelain and is decorated with brightly colored high glazed enamels. There is raised enamel beading and gilded accents. This porcelain plate was produced in England by Brownfields Porcelain Manufacturers in the 1880s. The plate measures 9 inches in diameter. It is made of fine, white bone china. It has the distinct Asian influence that inspired the Aesthetic movement. Two pheasants stand under a pine tree as birds fly through the clouds and the sun emerges. The colors are bright and the hand painting well done. The rim is trimmed with dentil gilding. Condition: Excellent

A small covered Japanese Imari jar, decorated with flowers, trees, leafs and butterflies. The jar measures, with lid, about 8 1/2" high x 4 1/2" in diameter, and dates to the turn of the Century. The condition is excellent with some wear from use. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

A truly spectacular example of early Roman glass, being a sea-green bowl of shallow rounded form with a smooth edge and 28 exterior pronounced ribs converging at the bottom. A wheel cut triple band circles the lower flattened section of the bowl.

The diameter at the top rim is 6 1/8", and the height is 1 3/8". The condition of the bowl is superb, with no chips, cracks, or restoration and displaying a wonderful iridescence. I have shown a number of photos below in different lighting and angles...

This is a Song dynasty (960 – 1276) porcelain cosmetic box and cover. The sides and bottom half is ribbed to look like a melon form, the recessed top is moulded in the form of a stylised double flower with a short stalk. Finely carving of a charming Pigeon resting on its characteristic true-to-form bird feet, just as shown in the book 'NETSUKE 100 Miniature Masterpieces from Japan', by Noriko Tsuchiya, that displays netsuke pieces from the The British Museum in London.
